I was on there moments ago, very little activity there today.

I will alert Ian that he may have a 3rd party service provider problem.

I hesitated to mention this on the 'competitors' board, but Jack and I discussed this problem a couple days  ago. We'd both wondered if we'd been 'banned' or something. Okay, sounds crazy, but when you get a message that your 'profile has been deleted' you get to wondering.

I wrote Ian through the 'BNO Facebook' site (still works) but have had no response. And Jack also sent him a message via email.

BW: You were next on my list, 'cause I know you're in close touch with Ian.

What's going on?

I was worried he'd gotten sick or something, but see he's active on (the 'real') Facebook.

Another mystery... as weird as disappearing gear box oil and other strange 'bus' happenings.

I've had the same problem, and it happended between 5 and 6 PM.  I thought that I had forgotten my password, got frustrated and quit.  I couldn't think of a way to let Ian know.

Relax everyone, there's some problem. I have talked shortly ago with Ian and he is tearing into it.

He was busy at work today, and was not aware until I called him.

You can be sure that he will post an explanation.

Thanks guys I feel much better now knowing it wasn't just me. ;)

I seldom even lurk over there, and post even less. So when I was unable to respond to a post. And also "not allowed" to send Ian an Email to ask why. I thought I'd been banned again!  :'(

This from Ian. I copied it from his Bus Nut site.

Hi folks,

I have alerted my ISP to the technical difficulties we're having with this web site, specifically the bulletin board. Overnight, they will be restoring the entire web site to last Sunday night - the last time they did a system checkpoint backup - which will affect everything on the site, including the classifieds. We should be back up in the morning, but meantime, this message and anything posted since Sunday night will have been lost.

I apologize for any inconvenience.

Stay tuned!

Ian

Hey Ian -

No Prob! Glad it's just a glitch and that you're okay.

Bunch of us are relieved we're not banned too  :)

What's with all this "banning" talk?

I am not aware of any legitimate busnuts being banned from BNO, and only the occasional banning here when someone gets a little raucous.

Just off the phone with Ian.

The recovery from an ISP related file corruption is continuing.

Happily, we still exist, just in a back-up file, that takes a fair bit of manipulation to resume working.

Unhappily, all this is constantly interrupted by the needs of employment and other such trivial obligations!

Ian wants us all to know he loves us dearly, thanks us for our patience, will have it sorted out as soon as possible, and thanks BCM for communicating these important matters to the hobby.

BW,
Not trying to stir the pot, or anything. But speaking from personal experirnce, it has happened.
Long story, long time ago, and not worth dragging back to the surface. ;)

BK -

Perhaps not, but you are definitely a certifiable nut case. :)

Hey, did my number on that air problem. Well, half my number. Maybe I'll post about it later.

I am supportive of a statute of limitations for remembering these matters!

Both places, all involved, the internet and the world, are all much different/wiser/experienced than closer to the beginning of these online hobby places.

And I much prefer where we've got to, than where we've been!

Thanks BK, I had forgotten.

Wow! I sense a story in this, one of those oldtimer wooly stories of foul deeds and 'deering do.'

Anyone gonna share with this newbie? Not on the board of course... maybe in hushed voices over a campfire and (just slightly) too many beers?

I@N!

Glad to 'hear' your gravelly old voice. Must be strange, coming over here... kinda like staying in a hotel when you live across the street :)?

But never fear, old bud... you've been missed (as you can plainly see). And if anybody didn't, BW whipped 'em right into shape.

Lotsa love flowing your way so  - in the immortal words of Cat Stevens - take your time, settle down. and someday... ;)

Luv ya,

Nellie
