For those wishing to repower with something a bit larger than most, here are some Cat C-18s that someone could get a great deal on.SURPLUS DEAL ON CATERPILLAR MARINE DIESEL ENGINES
I have 5- engines involved in shipping truck accident. Marine cat 2008 C-18 twin turbo 1015 h.p.
all 5 on factory crates shifted and rolled together. Damage to bolt on components such as alternator/bracket, starter,dented oil/air lines, air cleaner, gauge panel, turbo & oil pump.
there is no warranty on the motors. located in south carolina currently.
owner asking $69,000 U.S. per unit. let me know if any interest.
Way to much money, wrong application. The truck versions will put out 7-800hp. You'd need a radiator the size of the front of the bus to cool over 1,000hp. Then there are the electronics? Good Luck, TomC
Not a bad price Dave I know my brother paid a lot more than that for his C-18's in his boats (4 in each)
