For those of you who have been patiently waiting:

There's still a couple of Flx's out back - my understanding is that once they leave the main flock of Eagles (who are currently pre-rallying east of town) will land.
(https://busconversionmagazine.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rjevans.org%2Fmiscphotos%2Fbus%2Fflx-3.jpg&hash=bad10fa47d9b0aa83952b0d49b65487d809e0bf7)
Clearly I should re-size these. But I've got visiting to do and tea to drink. So deal with it. :)

Thanks for the pics. Because of you my wife caught me looking at porn again.
LOL
John
That Flx transit looks interesting-looks like he's still running the Cummins 903 in it-a brave man! Good Luck, TomC

Hey Bob, how about resizing them so they can be seen? LOL
Your pics are so "large"...I can't see...
A gallant effort this early in the morning, thanks! Now go visiting ;D
Bob, I am from NW Pa. So can you tell me what the bright blue at the top of the pics is? Thanks Tom Y
MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmm, Bus/s and Blue sky. Me want more BUSPORN! M&C ;D
Ok I have to ask how did you get a photo that big to post. The only pictures that post for me are 2 inch photos very tiny.
Thanks for posting though
Lonnie
Gee Bob, can you make them larger?............ ::)
Nice to see nobody floating yet!
Paul
Some of the Eagles have arrived:

If the famous rains arrive I expect it will be harder to take this picture:

The photos are hosted externally to the Bus Conversions website (on my own website) Lonnie.
Yup! Looks like the cavalry has arrived. ;D ;D ;D
This is Sonny Gray's Cat installation attracting myself and other assorted lookie-lous. It seems to me like it might be dangerous to run an engine without that nice protective coating of oil that us Detroit owners are used to but I guess some guys like to live on the edge.

Busses as far as the eye can see:

A couple more eye candy shots. There's some really pretty frenchy-busses on the back row. But I might be prejudiced.

"O Yeah" love it, more, more... ;D M&C
Truly wonderful pix. All of them. I thank you. If at all possible we'll try to get there next year. If they still allow old farts with old buses...Cable
I can pretty well guarantee you won't be the oldest one here - bus or human.
Ok we were hooked from the first pic, Have a great time we wish we there.
Thank/more more
John
What? no photos of the Silversides or the two 5A's ? ;D
I'm happy to see a Crown in the last photo, still unapologetically resplendant in its true colors. With its sloping window pillar covers, I wonder if it's one of the rare Embree buses, or maybe one of Bremerton's equally-rare pushers. Either way, who cares, it's still a bus in the best sense of the word - simple, tough, unpretentious, ready and able to reliably work for many decades.
One day I hope to join the assembled glitterati at Quartzsite with my bus, and until then I hope other Crowns and Gilligs fly the flag for us folk. Go yellow!
John, proud to own another rare Crown
Yes Bob thank you for the BUS PORN!
I swear that Yeller motor gets sexier every time I see it! ;D
;D BK ;D
Thank you mucho Bob, how is the weather holding up? If it is not to much trouble, maybe a couple more photos will hold me over till we arrive ;)
Bus Porn,always
the unexpected
Pleasure! ;D ;D
These won't be any help to Van cuz he's already here but they show the morning after the big storm for anybody who isn't here. Rice Ranch staff was right on top of this first thing this morning - clearly they had done it before.

Down the road from Larry's bus there was a couple of vehicles got undermined but the river never made it back to the busses.

Breakfast this morning required parkas. I think if you look real close you can see Sonny Gray and Jim Shepherd discussing the merits of electronic vs. mechanical engine installations.

John, that is one of the Embree buses and he is going to keep it as a seated bus. It is in very nice shape and he is going to restore it.
The guy has another Crown here at my place and the Eagle is keeping a close eye from the nest trying to figure out what it is.
good luck
Watch out Clifford, you might have some little "Croagle's" or "Eagown's" running around when you get back! ::)
What is the parking routine there? I see everyone nicely lined up, and then one bus sideways, taking up about 6 spaces? Is there a rhyme to that reason?

Bob that was COLD!
;D BK ;D
BK, but funny! ;D We just had dinner with Jim And Pat and i told him about it as he has been busy and not seen it yet. Larry, they park everybody as they come in, have some bushes to contend with. That bus belongs to Larry who is the Rally host and is parked that way so everybody can easily find them and so there is room for people to gather for the coffee and doughnuts in the morning, and right now the music show is set up in front of the bus.
Yep. Sonnie and I have had several discussions. Indeed, I called him before the rally and told him either he put a hex on me, or he has been right all along. :o
Jim
Great photo's
Any of them from the highway looking down.
Lonnie
Sorry - no shots from the highway Lonnie.
There was a potluck prior to Michael's performance last night. I thought Larry was nuts when he decided to go ahead with it in the early afternoon but the weather held and we had a great time visiting and eating.
(https://busconversionmagazine.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rjevans.org%2Fmiscphotos%2Fbus%2Fpotluck.jpg&hash=d9fdaba18e45bb4630527d614d06326aa776d5fa)
Then Michael entertained us for about an hour.

And yes, the other one is one of the Embree busses.
Nice job,BOTN. Thanks for the pictures!. Wish I could have been there!
Is that the RCA dog? :D
A couple more from last evening. Bus-Yoda finally showed up and was immediately surrounded:

... meanwhile Larry finally got a chance to relax and enjoy the evening. Well done Larry - it was a first rate rally.

BOTN,
In post #16, there is a bus with a black mask over a white body, with what looks like a KW right front door. It is the one just to the foreground of the flag pole in the background.
The windshield has a bit of a slant to it. Just looks different, But I like it and the fabrication to install the side door. Unless this is a OTR tractor unit stretched into a conversion, Not unlike the wonderful unit TomC is constructing.
Great Pics, I got to give up this FT work thing to join you all on the road.
Gary
Gary,
This one? http://www.mrsharkey.com/forum/vwtp.php?t=1161 (http://www.mrsharkey.com/forum/vwtp.php?t=1161)
John
Bob,
First class all the way, I felt like I was participating, This has been the very best rally updates I have ever seen.
Thank You,
John
I was nervous that someone would show a pic of a bus under 16 years of age on the bus porn site and we'd get in trouble!! Just don't download any of Busted knuckles pics and you should be ok.....
Gary if you follow the link that John posted I think the "coach" you are referring to is at the end of that thread. And yes it is a truck conversion. The owners said it had been an entertainer conversion that they gutted and redid but I didn't see inside it.
Thanks John,
That is the one. Very spacious and elegantly done inside, simple & clean outside. I am assuming it is still a COE with the rad out front, unless it is for the genset. If the engine is still upfront, that makes for one long DS. Looking at that immaculate white toad, it definitely is not a DD 2 stroke pusher.
Thanks Guys Great Pics !!
Gary
I have posted all of my Quartzsite pictures on Picasa.
Picasa Web Album (http://picasaweb.google.com/bobfromthenorth/WesternGMEaglesInternationalRally?feat=directlink)
I also finally got around to resizing those initial three pictures so you can actually see them.
To those of you that I finally got to meet, it was great to put a face to the name. Those of you who didn't make it there this year really need to put it on your calendar for next year. The Eagles International chapter has agreed to host next year's rally - same time, same place.

So, now that you've had so much fun Bob, are you gonna make it to Texas for the "Great Mid-Texas Cabin Fever Relief" function at our place?
Its not entirely out of the question that we might be there. We don't actually have a plan for this afternoon so pretending that we know what we will be doing a month out would just be silly but we are talking about it.
One more. This is pretty amateurish in the video department but maybe with time I will get better.
