Title: Leveling valve
Post by: 5B Steve on January 10, 2010, 11:51:24 AM

I noticed today that when I started the bus up , the left side was real high and the right was down on the air bags and didn't

rise. Question is, did it fail, ice in the airline. What appears on the left side the lever to the valve is down and the right side is

horizontal.  Any clue as to what is going on?

Check the linkage on the side that is down. If it is intact tap on the valve. There could be dirt or rust and tapping on it will sometimes dislodge it. What is the temp there. Could be ice in the leveling valve. Take a blow dryer out ther and warm up the valve.e

Sometimes just moving the bus a couple of feet one way or the other frees them up.

The other day when we were out playing with the buses one of ours did the same thing, once inside the shop and warming up it settled out level!

When I installed my leveling system I got rid of the auto leveling valves. The bus as a motorhome will not change much in weight and will not need the auto valves.

Happens to my 4104 during cold weather but not warm? After it moves a few feet it levels out.

I'm going to disconnect mine also, it is nothing but a pain in the rear. I hope to rig it up so I can manually level it when parked but won't if it is too much work.

This feature is not needed in a conversion, just like John says.

Ours did the same thing 2 weeks ago, This board was most helpful. I chocked the bus, slid under by the rear drivers and found the arm from the leveler that should be afixed tto the frame had come off and was hanging. I found the mount and put it back in place. She aired right up. Thanks Bus Yodas. M&C and Mrs. Jones ;D
