Our high today is supposed to be 46! This is south Florida, for petes sakes!. It should be at least 60! They are forcasting a low of 25 tonight. Can't go much further south without putting floats on our bus.
I just saw on TV that Mexico City had snow. Sure would like to ask Al Gore what happened to his global warming? Jack
Remember Jack
That is MAN MADE global warming not just any kind of global warming
Melbo
P.S. burn more diesel to keep it getting warmer
I'll take sunny crazy Los Angeles anytime. It was pushing 80 yesterday, with a repeat today. Good Luck, TomC
I'm glad to be in 46, Chattanooga's high yesterday was 26. The low last night was 9 with a wind chiill of -1. I realize that is a warm day for Cody country, but this was in the South :o
I think God said "These silly people think they control the Earth's weather, watch this!"
Yer not kidding it is cold Jack. I pulled up the weather radar on the way to work at about 6:30 and it showed a line of snow showers in Orlando across the state. Just cold rain here. Same thing tonight, maybe snow down to Vero Beach....I might even get some flurries here...outragious! Hope the kiddies can see it though...just this once..then never again! :D
We had a low of 10, wind chill put it at 6 this morning. Supposed to hit 40 today. Hot Dang, a heat wave! :D
Normal highs are supposed to be in the mid 50's, yeah right! So much for global warming!
I'm sooooo tired of this cold!
Paul
Jack
I know what you mean.
Yesterday high in the mid 30s low last night 24 here in the Coastal Bend of Texas.
Better weather to come.
BRRRRRR but iI see 70's next week by wed down there....will be down to Silver Springs late Jan til April ....make sure bad temp gone...please
Our dear friend Al... :o Poor Al... 8)
Wow a low of 48 here with the high of 70, but we pay for it in Aug (110+ sometimes) one good thing about AZ 2 hrs of driving I can be in the mountains with 70 and 80 temps or 10 hrs puts me in Idaho
good luck
High outside of Tulsa is 15 with wind chill about 5. I am with you Cliff. When I lived in Vegas and it was to hot a quick run to Mt. Charleston it was 20-30 degree cooler. I would take 110 over this crap any day ;D
Bryan
i'm starting to like this weather, Jack ;D. We have cold rain, about 34 deg here in Lakeland, Fl and it feels colder than it is. it is so cold that ....
Fran made homemade chicken soup last nite, and biscuits in the oven. This morning, she filled the crockpot with fresh vegetables and prime beef chunks for "simmered-to-perfection vegetable beef soup". and the oven is heating for fresh baked oatmeal, peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies to be baked.
i may have to adjust the seat before i can drive to Yee Haw Junction in a couple weeks :) :).
Bet you wish we were in Arcadia! (well, maybe not "we", but i have to come along to drive).
Forgive me, I have to go outside and make sure my palm tree isn't suffering from sunstroke, hehehehhehe.
Well, it's 10:30 in the morning, and my widget says it's -11 today and the wind's blowing.... the sun is shining, though, so it's not all bad!
Shoot, I can't even see the thermometer outside due to the fog!
RJ,
I remember driving in the fog from Fresno to Visalia for work back in the early 90's. I think they have the worst fog I have ever seen.
Bryan
Well, Jack, it's even colder where I am (about 20 yards north of you) ;D
...and I DO have floats on my bus... just don't trust the air bags :D :D :D
Nellie
At 9:30 AM it is 46 degrees and a blue sky here just west of Seattle. Of course it could be the same 6 months from now.
Or just as likely 6 months from now it could be 46 degrees and gray and rainy skies. ;D
Shoot itz cooollldddd everywhere! It got down to 9* last night and was up to 15* when I got up at 7:15 and is now up to 23* at 12:19 so we are getting warmer! ;D (bah humbug!)
Tom keep talking about good homemade chicken soup, beef veggie soup, and PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES and I'll be headed back down that way in no time! ;D
;D BK ;D
PS It's Nellie's fault she brought this cold down from CANOOK country! ;D
Gorsh Guys...
It was nice here last year... Butttttt...
Here is a view of my campground (night) last night.
Not much more than 1 Inch of snow, But really chilly @ 10 degrees and tonight is
going to be colder. Makes it hard to get up and down the mountain too...

Actually, BK, I'm thinking about moving to Africa... maybe they would end up breaking records there too! ;)
Nellie
Yep, it was cold even down in Mexico. We had to wear jackets the whole cruise. They cancelled shore excursions in Cozemel. Then we come home to a mess. I couldnt believe we were getting off the ship in Mobile, Al. and it is snowing. Getting older, you dont want time to go by faster than it already does, but...... I am ready for summer!!!!!
I've been carefully avoiding any comments that would be upsetting to anyone here on the board but I do appreciate the fact that I'm not getting the blame for hooking onto a storm system and dragging it south. We've had a nice mild winter so far, at least mild for this area so I'm staying in my corner and not going to pick on any of the poor, poor southern peoples, see how well behaved I can be? I guess it's just my shy and innocent nature coming shining thru. lol

Cody,
I hope you noticed that I did not blame you this time. Not sure who to blame, this started the last day of the rally and there were so many northerners at the rally. Just don't know which one or which group did this dastardly thing. LOL Jack
There must be two different Cody people on this board,
John
Hey Jack & Nellie,
I'm sorry for blaming Nellie for this. I now see right thru Mr. Shy & Innocent's ploy!
He sent it down by parcel post because he was jealuos that he could not be there and I was!
Uh huh Cody now your secret it out!
;D BK ;D

I have to agree with luvrbus as Yuma is nice and warm and sunny in the winter. Jerry
OK Jack,
Its hasn't gone past 35* so far here today....and we are only 3 hours North....
I am covering up the words "sunshine state" on my license until better weather. :-X
Cliff
Guys, We are not having very good weather either. :o We have Small Craft Warnings posted. Really messing with my scuba diving this weekend. ;) Water temp. 81F, Air 85F..... ;D Wind 25mph. :(
Sorry,,, :D
Bill
O.K. Apparently there are some pretty wimpy busnuts on board. I have spent the last 2 days replacing 3 skylights, three floors up on a windswept roof, drinking hot water to keep warm and hydrated, average temp 19F. Next week I'm installing some custom carriage house doors where the wood needs to fitted into a steel frames the forecast says 7.
What I really want to point out is the pleasure I feel at the end of the day, warm at home with my family, there's something extra comfy about it all after being outside in the cold all ( really only half) the day. I can only liken it to pleasure of getting back out on the highway after a breakdown of some sort where one's cleverness/dumb luck/perseverance and perhaps the kindness/helpful advice of a stranger or two has altered one's pace for an hour or a day or two and now we're on our way again.
So for all of you ____________ where it's 38 out, I guess it's time cuddle up around your monitors basking in the warm glow of satisfaction knowing things could be worse. :)
BTW after writing the last line I had to laugh out loudas it sure does get worse sometimes, i.e. right now I have 4 down with the flue the 3 kids and Jenn, it's a regular vomitorium, who knew an eight month old baby could spew so much soooooooo far.
Yeeee Haw let the good times roll, the only reason I have time to write this is thanks to a grandma taking 2 and the other two have passed out moaning in their beds...oh and the clincher is it's my birthday today.
Gotta go, time to load the dryer with sheets.
Seems a little off topic, but to the powers that be, and in my only chance to be irresponsible today, the other guys started it. ;D
Well Zubzub,
No offense, but it's you who chose to live in the frozen tundra where you only get a month of summer and 11 months of winter! I lived in Fargo, ND where we had 3 months of summer and 9 months of winter and after 2 yrs if that crap I got the heck out and moved back south (sorta) I went to the Tulsa, OK area for about 2 yrs and then came back home to TN where a phone call to god is still a local call! ;)
By the way
HAPPY Birthday.
(by the way you is a better Eskimo than I iz! ;D)
;D BK ;D
Hey BK no offense taken and I'm not complaining, just feel bad for all the southerners lacking drama with the ho hum sunny days. BTW summer here is not 1 month but five whole weeks (sometimes) but always 11.5 months of cold/cool nights. Also please note I will end up south once the kiddies are a little older, we share some of them with exes who don't live in texas so there are a few more cold winters in my future.
Zub,
Happy birthday. You are right, things could get worse ;). Try being in a van, loaded with ten people, 8 of whom are working on vomiting up everything they have eaten for the last couple of weeks, and driving because you had to be somewhere on a schedule...those were the good old days :).
God bless,
John
Last year summer came early here, it was on a tuesday I think and lasted almost to the weekend.
A friend of mine winters in Orlando and the temps have been frigid for that area. He has had to cover his plants and leave his pool pump running at night. I heard they were supposed to get a hard freeze sometime in the last few days.
It is supposed to get up to 16 degrees here tomorrow (heat wave) so I'll try to thaw the door to my bus so I can get in it again.
:o

IT'S SO COLD OUT I SAW A ___________ WITH HIS HANDS IN HIS OWN POCKET!
I got a kick out of that one, very funny. Too bad it won't last long! ;D
Paul
Yup..... i am one of those wimpy busnuts! ;D I don't like to go out and work on the bus unless it is at least 60 degrees out, and i would prefer it to be 70! On the other hand 90 degrees doesn't bother me at all but a lot of people i know turn on the AC if it is over 70 and complain of being too hot. ??? I guess there are winter wimps and summer wimps. ;D
Hello: new low in Dunnellon FL this Am 7:30 it was 18 behind the house. Once the sun comes up it warms up a bit At 11:00am it is 46 in the sun and 36 in the shade. THese old bones are not happy.
We came from lake ontario area so one would think we are used to it .. WRONG. now the body systems are changed over to cooling mode trying to keep us cool during the summer. SO the old winter insulated work coverall with sweats and long johns are now in use bah humbug...
ANyway just an old goat blowing steam wishing for more btus..
FWIW
Regards and happy bussin mike
Well guy's it was -9 yesterday morning and -12 this morning and if I could ship, send, box or voodoo this friggin weather to anyone it would be gone. I am on three blood thinners and this cold is going straight through me. Or if BK wants to buy it I'll take a little cash for it.
WVaNative
Cold enough here to take my son on his first sledding trip on the family's 76 year old toboggan! Great time!
Glenn
Well warmer weather is on the way. It finally got into the mid 40's today after what seems like weeks of almost 0's for the highs. The forecast looks for more normal temps for awhile.
Thermometer has E D ??
Totally gone !!
Our thermometer doesnt have a name (or a condition lol) but sometimes it feels like every tom, dick, and harry is named steve.
Monday morning new low for Dunnellon Fl 17 here at 0800. BAH HUMBUG.
Regards and happy bussin mike
25 at 7 AM this morning in Arcadia. Had ice on the outdoor cats water bowl. Where is Global Warming when you need it! Jack
We are having a heat wave in northwest fl, the ice on the pond has melted. Took the opportunity this morning to try to start the bus at 18f and it lit up on the second go! Ran rough for a little and settled into a rattling purr. Amazing that a 37 year old diesel lights right up and My modern tractor needs magic juice to get going. And Mike quit crying You of all people should love this cold stuff,LOL. Stay warm all of You! John
Jack, we Californians give a sincere thanks to Floridians for allowing us to use your excess warmth. We've been over normal for most of the winter.
While this phenomenon sounds good it has brutal side also. Shortage of sunscreen. I had to go to two to stores to replenish my supplies. ;)
Mike
Last year Jack & Paula's pond had an aligator in it. This year is a little different:
So thats where he went, I was wondering, all the complaining about how it was way to warm then he just disappeared, I thought maybe he had melted.
Well, this is a first for me. We are "enjoying" Fla weather here in western NY in January.. Its 25 here too !
I still can't see the thermometer for the fog!
;)

Hey Jack my puppies have one of the automatic refilling water bowls with the water cooler style bottle upside down on top of it. And the jug has been frozen solid for a week. My sister bought them some heated water bowls last spring when they were on clearance after winter. I tried one the other day for Kross, (his sister is at my sister's while she is in heat!) he doesn't like it. I guess he doesn't care for warm water, because he refuses to drink out of it! He either licks the ice in the frozen bowl, ice on the puddles around the yard, or barks until I let him back in and makes me put fresh water in his inside bowl. (if I don't pour it out and refill it he pesters me to death until I get fed up and do it!)
;D BK ;D
PS we are having
a heat wave (global warming ;)) right now it's up to 32.7* from 24 at 7 AM (cst) when I got up!
10:10 am, 64 degrees, not a cloud in the sky, and a light breeze here in Yuma. Almost warm enough to go outside and start working on the bus. :)
white out on ohio river at 12:40 no good!
