Title: MCI DDEC 2 ignition relay
Post by: Homegrowndiesel on January 05, 2010, 02:33:28 PM
1991 MCI 6v92 I shut the bus off and everything was fine, went to start it and no fire.
In the back bay I have the light for the atec, but no ddec light. when I pull the test switch it lights up but no codes, as a matter of fact I have no check engine lights on dash either, even when I push the bulb test light. I havent checked the bulbs yet.

All of the ddec fuses are ok at the battery box, at the rear j box I have 12 volts at the ddec ignition relay wire marked 12v but no other hot leads. on the ignition relay there is a white wire, most likely ground for the relay, the above mentioned 12v marked wire with 12 volts, a wire marked 6a and another unmarked wire.  I am assuming one is the trigger wire and the other 12 volts out for the ddec.

anyone have any clues on whats up?
It will fire on either.

after checking the atec relay for wiring on the trigger, I jumped the relay on the ddec ignition relay.
fired right up. Anyone know anything about the triple protection relay, seems the wiring goes thru that.

Thanks for the calls.

Will have to find the complete wiring diagram to trace it down, but back on the road for now.
