I have 1967 MCI MC 5A Challenger that was originally converted in 1998, and it was been well maintained by previous owner. I have kept up with the maintenance since I have owned her the past 2 years thanks to this board, long time lurker. I live in the Phoenix Metro area Glendale specifically.
I am interested in going to the Quartzsite rally to glean more information and knowledge about buses and to meet folks with similar interest. I am not an FMC member, does that makes a difference? Is it to late to register? Is there a pre or post time I could join the group that would not interfere with rally business? Is there someone else I should be asking? Thanks for the assistance in advance.
Jamie welcome, about the rally it is to late to register but there is plenty of parking in area close to it and I don't know for sure but as many late comers that will be there I am sure some type provision will be made by Larry for those.
The dinner will be the problem he needed a head count for the food it is hard to buy and prepare food for a group without knowing how many
You need not belong to FMCA to attend the rally.
I heard non rally parking in that area will be 7 bucks a day.
can one of you guys (BOB) call Larry and get people some answers please
good luck and hope to see you there
Welcome aboard!
Welcome aboard!
You all so have the Scenicruiser gathering scheduled for April 8 & 9, 2010 in Amarillo, Texas 8)
Welcome aboard, Jaime. Welcome to the madness, and have fun.
Enjoy yourself at the big Q.
God bless,
John
Jaime,
As said welcome to the madness!
Also I strongly encourage you to go to "The Q" or any other rally you can! You will be simply amazed at the # of great people you will meet, and the fantastic buses you will see and the very very many ideas and tricks that you will learn!
I have been wanting to make it to "one of the BIG rally's" for 8 or 9 years now. I finally made it to Bussin 2010 in Arcadia, FL this year and it was awesome!
I've had several small rally's here at our property in west TN, and everyone had fun. But I have to be honest, I am in love with the rally Jack & Paula put on in Arcadia! (it was great to roll in park and have absolutely no plans, responsibilities, or anything else to worry about for the next 4 days!
So go to the "Q" and meet as many great busnuts as you can and have fun!
;D BK ;D
I think that you will be pleasantly surprised at the number of 5As that will be there too. :) From the sounds of it so far i would not be surprised if there are not at least 2-300 buses at the rally or in the area at the time. We hope to be there if i can finish up a few projects/problems that i am working on. ;D
Welcome Jaime, we will be at the Q on the 21st, come look us up.we will be parked in the team red area,LOL! ;D

Well, we have two threads that don't agree with each other. This thread: http://www.busconversions.com/bbs/index.php?topic=14059.0 (http://www.busconversions.com/bbs/index.php?topic=14059.0) suggests that we can still register. The form for the registration is in the first post of the thread and Bob Evans just bumped it up, so I assume he has been told that we can still register.
This thread is the first I have heard that it is too late to register. I hope not, since I have been holding off sending mine in, since I still do not have the bus running.
Jim
I left a message with Larry & Carol's cast iron secretary this morning. I'll report back as soon as I hear something.
Jim, Jan 01 2010 deadline is posted on the Eagles board and our Eagles Int news letter you have been busy LOL
good luck
OK - I just got off the phone with Larry and here's the latest scoop:
They will take any and all arrivals for the rally and for parking. The rally fee is $20 and parking is $5 per day. When you check in you will get date stamped and you will pay the appropriate amount of parking fees when you depart.
Now here's the good part - he still has "some" dinner tickets available. I won't say how many because obviously that is a moving target but it's not a big number so, if you want to eat with the rally group, you need to contact Larry NOW. He said it is OK to phone or email him. Phone is five two zero, six four eight, zero one six eight. Email is hc70 at hotmail dot com. If it was me I'd phone but that's just me.
Clifford, as usual, you are on top of the data. I had missed the 1/1/10 deadline on the Eagle site.
Bob, thanks for the update. I am frantically trying to get the bus running (electrical glitch right now). If I don't have it on the road and tested in the next 3-4 days, I will have to pull the plug (maybe pun intended >:() and sit the winter out here in CO. If I get it running, I will call Larry.
Jim
Thanks to all, I contacted Larry per Bobofhtenorth info and I have registered and will be there and look forward to the experience and learning experience.
