Does anyone here remember a link or address for the common everyday electronic pushbutton transmission shifter that you find on most Prevost and newer MCI's? I have a cable operated unit now (by the way, transmission is not an electronic controlled unit), but the pushbutton style would make mounting/shifting a little nicer for the dash. I need the entire unit (push button, wiring to servo on the transmission)
I hope everyone has a nice time in Arcadia.

Ben you have too be asking about a Stone/Bennett for a 740 it is electric over air or electric over hydraulic.
You can buy the units from older transit buses Nimco did have them or you can buy new from Coach Conversion Central or United Transmission Exchange www.utxchange.com (http://www.utxchange.com)
good luck
I got mine from ron the busnut complete unit used. $150.00
minus the touch pad made my own with led lights and toggle switch
Can these be installed on an Allison 5 spd. non electronic trans. in an MC-9?
Good idea? or stay with cable?
Thanks Iver.
Iver, they are made for non electronic transmission they work on 2 speeds up to the old 6 speeds.
I love the shifter myself , a switch on the dash flip it up or down and you are good to go
good luck
I called united trans. They said app. 3k. Think I will shift the old cable way. Nimco has no more.
Eric, check with Tom Hall @ coach conversion central the last one I bought from him was 1800 bucks complete also check your local wrecking yard they were used in the transits and heavy equipment world for years.
I have a friend that bought one from a wrecking yard for 50 bucks complete a few months back or maybe ronthebusnut has more of the 150 dollars units.
They are out there just finding the unit Fwiw there is one on the BNO for 2500 with the 750 transmission
good luck
I have a brand new cable shifter that I bought on ebay for $ 25 bucks. I was going to replace the one that those hot little fire flys off the welder got hold of. It will work, but I have the cable streached about as far as it will go. Need about 12" more to be able to pull out the shifter if needed. I think I may be able to buy a longer cable cheaper. If it is like the air throttle though it sure would be slick. My leg thanks me every time I get behind the wheel!!!!

So are the units transmission specific? Or can they be fitted to any Allison?
Thanks, Iver.
Iver, the Stone/Bennett for the 2 speeds are forward and reverse only the ones for the 4 speeds will work on a 5 speed needs a extra wire to toggle switch and fwiw most of the time it is in the harness but the display will only read 4 without the display for 5 speed.
A 24 volt will work on a 12 volt with a electrail componet forgot what they call it and cost around 25 bucks to have somebody install one for you but most of the guys with 24v pickup a 12v tap somewhere and use the 12v system if they have a 12v Bennett
good luck
they can go on almost all Allison transmissions, I have a dealer by me so if you guy's need any thing give me a call or pm me.
