Title: Need a part on the mirror
Post by: wal1809 on December 22, 2009, 11:17:59 AM
I am in need of the black plastic cup that holds the ball on the under side of the mirror housing.  The ball fits into it before you tighten the two set screws.  It is worn out and the mirror fell off the other day.

I called Eagle and Frankie Goodson.  Neither had the part.  Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

What brand of mirror do you have Wayne are they 2 pc remote control or single pane sounds like a Ramco brand.
Check the Ramco site and see if the heads are the same as yours www.ramco-eng.com (http://www.ramco-eng.com)

good luck

Hello LUVRBUS.  I am not sure what brand they are.  I am leaning to the original Eagle brand because there is and eagle stamped into the mirror housing on the backside (which makes it the front actually of the mirror housing.  I looked at the link and they are similar but not exact in design.

Wayne, that is a Ramco mirror I have the same mirror remote control 2 pc with heat call Ramco and they will have the parts.
Just tell her you have the one with the Eagle embossed in it.
Factory Eagle mirrors were not that great they had a flange with 4 screws holding it to the arm

good luck

Clifford, Just curious as to what one might spend on a used set of the embossed mirrors?
Right now, a fly swatter wrapped in tin foil would be an improvement over the ones I have :-[

Van;

I may have a set for sale early next year. It looks like I may be cutting my model 10 up for scrap.

Thank you luvrbus.  I have a call into them right now.  Hopefully we can get that part in pretty quick.  I can not drive the bus right now without the mirror.

Oh I did it the other day taking my wife and all her work friends to the company Christmas party.  That is when the mirror got knocked off by Drunky the Pooh.  I had to drive home with no mirrror.  I just stayed int he slow lane and eased it on home.  It was a 50 mile trip and I didn't have any trouble.

I got a hold of Ramco and they are sending the glass and thwo replacement parts.  The cup that holds the ball at the bottom of the mirrir housing was made of plastic.  Now they only make them in aluminum and cost $6.00 each.  I told them to send me two and a replacement glass.  Not bad!!

Again thank you Luvrbus.
