Post by: Lin on December 07, 2009, 07:23:02 PM
Does anyone know the dimensions of the torque converters for Allison 740 and 640 transmissions?

Sometimes we "bump" a subject to bring it back to the first page so it may get a response.
Moderators, and the more politically correct folk use a bump, while smart a**es like me, Cody, Dallas, Van and several others use jokes, etc. ;D Either way it works to get the subect back in focus where it may or may not get a legitimate response! ;D

Anyway, since I posted this I was informed that the torque converter for both are about 16.5 inches across.  However the 640 torque converter has 6 studs protruding and about 25 nuts for holding the two sections together.  The 740 torque converter has none of that, but has a ring gear.  The 644/647 torque converter is just like the one for the 740 but has no ring gear.
