Not to highjack the current thread on window tint, but would like to know if anyone has applied the static cling dot matrix window film on their bus. I see they have this film for the exterior windows. I see a bunch of our local transit units using this style of window tint.
Anybody have experience with this stuff? Ideas......
Looks like I can do 9 windows for about $300 .

Grant,
We are on the same wave length today... :)
I have been thinking about this product also.
Maybe doing something different and having a design of passengers waving or some sort
or picture like your looking inside printed on the surface.
The possibilities are endless and it would be a nice sun block.
What really caught my attention recently was the drive thru window at a McDonald's.
They have there mocha's printed on it and then my "wheels started turning"

Anyone know of a good online source for this or have used this?

Cool, I am going to move forward. I will be in contact with this vendor tomorrow and see if we can get some black or white in 75 or 100 foot rolls at 32 or 36 inches. I have five windows that may not need the covering but 9 or 10 that do. My measurements suggests that a 53 inch by 30 inch window is approximately 11.04 square feet per window. A 100 foot roll at 36 inches is 300 square feet or 25 or more windows. If they could get us a 50 ft x 36 roll that might work better for most of us!
The website I found with a good variety of sizes good prices is:

If someone beats me to the punch, share with us what you learn.
Thanks

Grant, Let us know how it goes as I would be interested in this aspect of window tinting myself. I would like to apply it to the inside where it can be protected. I have heard quite a few RV'ers buy the static cling stuff at WM and have had very good luck. The DOT Matrix is a new experience for me.
I have leaned that most dual pane RV windows do not have any gasses such as Argon in between the panes, just plain old air. With the Thermopane type wich is gas filled, a lot of people have had problems with too much heat being trapped and cracking the glass or destroying the seal. This stuff just might be the ticket.

Keep us all informed about this product. I wish I had thought of it for my situation with A/C, but this place allows me to overlook a great idea, and have someone bring it to the fore.
I will definitely be adding this to my list of how to keep the bus ice cold.
