I'd like to be the first to wish everyone a happy thanksgiving, if you wake up in the morning, be thankful, there are some that won't. Look at your family and be thankful, many are alone, if your parents are still around, give them a call, mine are both gone. When you sit down to dinner, it doesn't matter if a huge brown turkey is sitting in the middle of the table or a bowl of soup, give thanks because many have less, most importantly give of yourselves however you can, always pay it forward, it makes you smile and that is reward enough, thank you everyone for being who you are.
A happy Thanksgiving too all. I'd like to share a silly little Thanksgiving story with you that I generally repeat every year at this time.
Many Thanksgivings ago, in the early afternoon, my wife sent me to the only store that was open for some little last minute thing. There I saw a young man, maybe twenty-five or so and he had his five or six year old son with him. I saw him checking out with a frozen turkey and all the traditional Thanksgiving stuff.
I never talked to him, but made up the story in my mind that he was divorced and had his son for the holiday and was going to fix Thanksgiving dinner. Probably never cooked anything bigger than a tuna fish sandwich up until then. I often wondered how his thanksgiving turned out.

Cody, I second what you said. I lost my parents recently also, but I am so thankful for what we have. Thanks to all of you on here who help others in need.

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody. I pray that you have a blessed time, because we truly are blessed (just like St. Cody was saying ;D ).
I do have to share a story about turkey. A friend of mine, was going after their annual turkey. He looked through the freezer section, of turkeys, and finally selected the one that he wanted. He vaguely noticed an older woman near there too, but didn't think much of it. He continues his shopping, with the turkey happily (but a little cold lol) perched in his basket. It wasn't too long after that, when he heard a excited high pitched squeal, "There he IS!!!"
Two police officers, and the old woman (that he vaguely remembered seeing near the turkeys), walked quickly towards him. The officers told my friend to remain where he was standing, and answer a couple of questions. It appears that my friend selected the turkey that the old lady had her heart set on. She went to get her cart (or something), while my friend innocently picked out "her" turkey ;D. The police asked a couple of lame questions, like whether he had checked out yet, whether he had taken the turkey from her cart, etc. Pretty soon they figured out what happened, and told my friend that he could continue with his shopping, and the tried to explain to the irate lady (after all, the police allowed the other fellow to "steal" "her" turkey! :D). My friend, a little embarrassed with the proceedings (he is a respectable citizen, in our decently small town), nodded to the other silent shoppers, standing around watching, and he then started whistling a little tune, as he walked towards the checkout ;D :D ;D.
So that is my TRUE turkey tale (it really is true).
He was thankful that he had a turkey that year ;D.
God bless,
John

Happy Thanksgiving to All!
May your day be blessed with family and friends!
My wife lost her Dad on this day last year, it won't be the same, but knowing he is in a better place does give some comfort!
Becky and Paul
We had our thanksgiving a few months ago, but for all our cousins south of us (well, some north of us too, strictly speaking), have a fine holiday, be safe, and be grateful for something. I read in the paper this morning that you can't actually be grateful and be angry, sad or upset at the same time, so by being thankful and feeling gratitude, you improve your whole day!

Family is best; Friends are great; Bus buddies are good;;Best to all from Bob&Judy
Happy Thanksgiving from Jack-N-Dianne!
I am reminded of a story that Mom and Dad told us growing up about a family that had very little for the table. They did have a persimmon tree thast was full! They made everything out of 'simmons' they could. Every year after that when we were saying Grace we would end with, "And thanks for the 'simmons'!"
Jack
PS...I am also reminded when I was 3 we moved to a place in Palatka, FL and it would be 2 weeks before Dad got paid. Mom went out with the dollar or so so she had and bought a 2 pound bag of flour. For the next 2 weeks she made anything she could out of flour. She said toward the end of the first few days she knew she would run out. It never did. Truly a Miracle!
Have a great Thankgiving and remember what makes this day special eat a lot of turkey because they may have the right to sue us next year.
good luck
Cody, nice mention on being thankful for what we have!
Very true, we should all take the time to be thankful as sometimes this is short sighted by what we do not have. Many are less fortunate and do not get to play with a bus;)
Best wishes to all and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Take care,
Chad
