Title: Looking for a Drawing on swing out step
Post by: luvrbus on November 24, 2009, 03:32:54 AM
Guys, several years back I posted a drawing on the old board for a manual operated step that swung out when you open the door.
To make a long story short do any of you have that drawing I have lost mine (or forgot where I put it).The guy I got it from drove a green Eagle and again I forgot his name.
I am redoing the stairs and would like to install the step. thanks for any help you can provide for me

good luck

Thanks for posting that. :)

I've been thinking about the same type thing.  I wanted that to be the first step and then the second step to be inside the door at about 7" to make entry easier for some folk.   More shorter steps to get in.

Is that kinda what you are doing Clifford?

I am going to make a few modifications to it Neewbee, like a latch so it doesn't open everytime only when you need it, the covering I am going to change and add automatic LED night lighting it will be the first step outside the door

good luck

What advantages does a step like this offer?  It doesn't appear to be any lower to the ground than the first step of the bus.

You install flip hinges at height you want when you open the door it drops down and when you close it the latch folds it up a big plus is you have a landing to step on .
There is one more sheet to it Paul posted the basics.

good luck

Clifford and John,

Those are the only diagrams I have, didn't know there was more.  :(

I guess we're all in trouble now, maybe Clifford will find the rest of it. ;D
