Anybody know where I can get a set of these? Checked the usual east coast supplier and I can't afford those(over a grand). Maybe a real good used set is out there somewhere?
Thanks,
Brandon
For a few hundred, you could piece together a new system. On my Vdrive transit with 8V-71, from the turbo to the muffler and to the stack, it is a 5" system. You should consider upgrading also, since the normal 3.5" to 4" system is very restrictive. Good Luck, TomC
Tom,
Can't find anybody that can bend 3.5 or 4" pipe. Any resources out your way? Could I use the flex stuff?
Thanks,
Brandon
Brandon,
Check out the end of this thread for sources and info for your 4905 exhaust

Instead of trying to bend anything that big I usually buy some elbows and weld them.
As a last resort you can use flex pipe. It may not last as long but will do the job. If your engine is not a turbo the exhaust is not all that hot and the flex will last a long time.
The International truck place has 90s, 45s, strait slip/clamp pieces and what-not.
don't forget the chrome tips. :)
Usually you buy pre bent elbows and piece it together by either welding the pipes or by using a stretch band clamp. Good Luck, TomC
Brandon, a tip for you when buying pre bent bends all ways buy long radius 90 degrees and you can cut off any angle needed example 1 90= 2- 45s or 2 -45= 4- 22 1/2 bends saves big bucks for you if you have a chop saw
good luck
Brandon,
I don't know what "East Coast Supplier" you checked with. If it wasn't NIMCO, you might give them a look. Heck, they only charge $50 for an exhaust manifold. I'm would think they will also have the piping you need.

Like the rest of the guys said, also check into the diameter pipe you need and elbows. I just needed to do this after putting a 6V92 w/turbo into my 4905. Had to come off the turbo with the 5" pipe and fittings. Just a matter of having the right elbows and cutting the 5" pipe to the correct length with my metal chop saw.
You should be able to find a local large vehicle (semi-truck) supplier who can order what you need, these are very common items.
Good luck,
Chris
