When I did my 9 before I even started my new sub floor, I parked the bus on my sloping driveway front end down and sprayed it all down with mean green cleaner and scrubed and hosed it out about 3 time's. You wouldn't believe the stuff that kept coming out. I also had the plywood pulled up down the center air intake so that acted like a trough for the water + you could hose up in the rear air ducts. The water didn't hurt the plywood it dried out fast. I still get a little of the old bus smell when I turn the bus heat or air on, I even cleaned the coils so I must have missed cleaning something. When I brought my iggle home I took a garden hose and sprayed, and sprayed, then i sprayed some more, I ended up with a very clean driveway lol.

Water, Bleach & Simple Green or Purple Stuff.

Yeah it takes a week to dry with a fan blowing on it but well
worth the aggravation.

Just be careful not to spray the wiring or dash board areas.

30 to 40 years of dander, hair, skin, candy wrappers and unidentifiable
materials will make you sick if it doesn't gross you out first.
Mold and Fungi love that stuff as a feed source.

I have done 3 and all three got pressure washed sure beats fighting the dirt forever.Use common sense about spraying electrical connections....clean buses are good.....used OdoBan...a commercial odor control product..sprayed in all air duct and filter areas..floors also

I took my bus down to the frame inside.  I hose washed it, then wire brushed it.  Had a crack over each door (transit) which isn't surprising from years of the air operated doors opening and closing multiple times a day that I welded up.  Then sprayed Rustoleum primer on the entire inside, screwed 1x2 fir strips lengthwise at about 16" centers, then had foam insulation sprayed in for 2.25" of insulation.  Liked it so much, I'm doing it the same way again. Good Luck, TomC

Rent a carpet / floor cleaning machine, the kind with the vacuum cleaner which sucks up the water.  You will get out even the ground-in crud, but not soak the wood.  Give it one pass, let it dry for half a day, then go through again, and that should do the job.  You can also do the walls and ceiling (if you're doing this, start there first, then do the floor afterward).
