Hey guys,
This rally is indeed a joint rally! Last year we only included the Eagles, Flxs, and Gms, but we had
a few MCIs, a couple of Prevosts, and several motor homes that came in. Since that time we have had
requests from other clubs and individuals that would like to come, so we opened it up to all converted coaches. We will also have an adjoining parking area for other RVs that are friends or guests that will be
welcome to join in the rally. There will be no additional parking fee for toads, but it will be up to the
property owner as to outsiders parking. I will try to get that clarified.
Larry Hall - Western GM
Can Sticks and Staples come? Or only converted coaches?
God bless,
John
Larry, thanks for the update now "whats for dinner" lol in the back of my mind a cater in Quartzsite stands out for some reason.
Hope it not corn dogs or the world famous fired Twinkies just joking the fried Twinkies are better than they sound but once was enough for me.
good luck
John, This is primarily a bus rally, but if you are a FMCA member, according to their by-laws you are
welcome at any FMCA rally. We are going to have an adjacent parking area for non-buses, but you are
welcome to participate in the rally. Larry
The dinner menu is going to be flank steak and chicken with hot potato salad, coleslaw, and baked beans.
Our caterer is a member of the GEMs from Castro Valley, California. We recently had a rally up there, and
believe me, they know how to do it right!
The Thursday night meet and greet will be pot-luck of heavy hor-de-ourvers. Unbelievable what these
gals can cook up! Maybe even fried twinkies.
Larry;
How fine are you going to split that hair. My coach is a country coach on a Gillig bus chassis.
Will you let me in with the big boys. Please
Don
Don, Wes Sturgis has a coach like yours now Larry may have a little problem with him and Jefferson parking somewhere other than with the buses Wes or Jerry don't hear real good so maybe you could use the hearing thing also. LOL
good luck
Hmmmm....aren't fried twinkies known in the medical profession as coronary on a stick? aka a bunch of boat or mercedes payments??? ;D
Hi Larry, We got a ? on our website: Where is the site of the Eagle, etc. get together? Mile post, route and/or designated camp ground? Can you fill in the blanks? Tks, M&C ;D

That looks like Rice Ranch. Great place to stay. A few years ago
it was taken over by a large RV dealer. Maybe since the economy
went bad they let their lease go. I have been there many times.
Merle.
Merle it is Rice Ranch straight across the highway from the Gambler's RV Surplus.
good luck
I'm really having a problem with the term "outsiders". Maybe I'm reading too much into it but I guess I've never been to a rally that seems to exclude so many people and yet gives the impression that suddenly due to a suddenly generous gesture "others" may also be included. I saw that years ago with the Revconeers and I really didn't like it then either, like I say, maybe I'm reading too much into it but it just sounds kind of strange. I guess I'm used to rallys like jacks where everyone is welcome regardless of what you drive or don't drive.
I can appreciate that, too much emphasis on this and that, always seems to muck it all up in the end. Isn't the purpose of a rally to meet new folks "who appreciate or share much of the same interests?" You don't have to have a bus, to be a bus nut. I was without a bus for almost thirty six years before I got mine, but that did not make me any less of a bus nut.
BCO
Cody, The three groups that strated this combined rally are FMCA clubs. The main purpose of the Quartzsite rally has always been to have our FMCA required annual meeting. We have always had our seperate rallies at the same time. Two years ago the Eagles club was asked since we where there anyway why not have a combined rally. We agreed and thus the combined rally. With that big of a rally the word gets out and people want to come to it. We do not want to exclude anyone but we have to focus on the purpose of the rally. I hope this helps out with your concerns.
Thank You Wayne
I guess it all depends on the purpose of the rally, I've been an FMCA member for many years, dating back to I think the late 70's and like what was mentioned the by-laws state that any FMCA member is welcome at any FMCA rally, so the generous gesture is kind of a moot issue, I've never been to a rally yet where the annual meeting was a problem but I think now I have a better understanding of the intention of the rally.
Shoot let's just have a rally and not worry about all that other stuff!
Our rally is an annual meeting. (Sorta, since we only have one annually or every 2 yrs! ;D)
;D BK ;D
Oh yeah and I'm a busnut who still don't have a bus!
Cody, You are correct about the FMCA members and Larry made that clear. It is the non FMCA members that will not be turned away.
BK, I agree the bigger these things get the more problems we have. When it was just our Eagle rally the biggest problem we had is who was going to bring the firewood, and who had the plastic Eagle to hang on the non Eagle that joined us.
Thank You Wayne
It's nice that you've chosen to not turn away the busnuts that haven't joined FMCA yet, makes for a much nicer group when everyone has the same credentials I guess.
Cody, most of this stems from bad information I have been all over Wayne's a** about this till I finally got it straight in my pea brain.
good luck
I just can't help thinking back to a rally years ago with the revconeers, i had been to several rallys and knew many of them there, but one year I broke the lower A-Frame and was waiting on parts and decided to go anyway in my car, I was turned away by people that I knew and they knew me, I never went back. Was a real learning experience for me.
I have not been to a rally yet or one that is sponsored by a governing body for that matter. So if I understand this correctly is the FMCA comprised of different sub categories based on bus manufacture? And what is the focus of the Rally? Not being facetious.
Just curious.
Bryan
FMCA is for all engine powered RV's but just about all brands of buses or motorhomes have different chapters by name or brand.
FMCA have their own rallies several times a year across the US for vendors and manufactures to show the new items for sale you need to attend one in your area you can attend with out being a member of FMCA.
Our Eagle rallies are very informal and laid back with the exception of the annual meeting in Jan then we take care of the club business
good luck
