I am looking at an electric fork lift 48 VDC. anyway to know how bad or good are the battery? How do I do that?
thanks wrench
Hi Wrench,
You will need to use a Hydrometer. Check the spacific gravity of each cell to see if they are all equal.
If there are cells that don't float, then they are bad. Not much more you can do other then that!
It really dosen't matter if they are not floating all the way up but, rather they be equally at the same level.
Good Luck

If you can find a big enough load tester, put a load on it! Just a joke...don't know that they make a load tester that big!
You can load test each cell individually. According to Dallas, each cell is also rebuildable/replaceable. The final voltage is just in how you configure them. It sure is a darn big box to fool with though.
