Greetings, I am posting this for a new member f rollins:
Has anyone convertered a 2-piece door into a one-piece door on an Eagle 05? Both windows were removed and made into a single window. A make shift frame was made to hold the glass, but I am looking for rubber to cement down and hold the glass in place without the made shift frame.
Thank you,
f rollins
This is going to be tough without pictures not knowing how the guy built the door.
Fwiw most of us build the door for the 1 pc Eagle window or just measure the opening and have Jeff at In Motion build a slider for the opening.
On the Eagle factory sedan door the 1 pc glass is shorter than the 2 pc glass so that trim won't work any measurements for us Phil.
Suggest you call Ed at Jefferson and see if he has a rubber moulding that would work shouldn't be that hard unless he removed the flanges for the 2 windows gasket.
Phil if he didn't lower the top and make the window shorter he will always have a problem with leaks on the door been there done that
good luck
When I built my one piece door the glass for the window was glued directly to the frame. It is working fine - no extra frame and no rubber molding.
Here is an article on how I did it. Maybe it will be helpful to U.

Look at Austin Hardware on line. They carry a big assortment of rubber. I made my o5 door with .125 skin. Used rubber with interlock.

Can you give us a better "up close" picture of the door glass inside and out? Also, do you have the number for the rubber you bought from Austin Hardware? I have been on line but couldn't find anything that would work. There is no lip/flange inside the frame. We bought rubber for the inside frame of the body/door. We also, bought a stainless steel hinge from them to hang door, might ad it was very reasonably priced.
