I am looking at suction cups for installing our windshield. What is the best brand? Do these cheapo HF work? http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=46134 (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=46134) I could buy four of these, no problem, for the same price that I could get one 60 dollar one.
Whatcha think?
God bless,
John
IMO - if U R doing a lot of windshied installation then it would probably be worth the bucks to go with the more expensive ones.
I purchased the HF some 7 or 8 years ago and they worked fine when it was time to install the 2 new windshields in our eagle.
Since then I have used them once in the installation of the window on the one piece door we built.
The rubber suction cups will more than likely dry rot before they R used again.
My though is - use the cheaper ones and put the saving into same other area of the conversion unless U R one of the fortunate ones with deep pockets - I hope U R.
Ours is a poor mans conversion. And it has been a wonderful experience.
Enjoying the journey in NC

That's where I got mine, they worked great and cheap.
Also get a couple of plastic window install sticks, they are beveled and make the install easier. If you have a rubber lock strip on your seal, get an lock install tool. It help to get the lock strip in place real easy.

I did it myself and it's not bad, better with two people though.

Thanks, guys.
This time I stuck with the HF one. I ordered four of them. Hopefully they work well, and will hold together for a little while.
God bless,
John
I only used one and it worked well.
