I have a brand new Valterra: La Toilette and have only been out in the bus a couple of times.
The toilet seems to keep running even after you release the handle.
The only way to shut it off is to pull up on the handle.
Problem is my boys don't remember and the fresh water can go real fast that way.
Looking for a better toilet maybe even a porcelain one.
What are you guys using and what holds up well.
Thanks,
John
Shut it off and give them a plastic liter bottle of water with a squirt hole drilled in the cap, tell em to squirt it all down with the bottle when done with their deed. I did that for some girls I had on the bus and it worked perfectly! Cut the usage from 20 gallons in two days down to 2 liters in two days!
..two places to ck for problem ...first there is a spring on most units that holds the valve closed....2nd place to look is make sure there is not something in valve blocking it from closing... sand ,pebble, plastic shaving, solder or anthing from the system construction. good luck ..check the simplest first.I used a therford(spell ?) porcelin unit from rv surplus salvage.
Hi John,
After using the Magnum Opus from SeaLand, I most likely will never use any other.

Mine did the same thing. The fix was, under the pivot point of the flushing pedal was a plastic ball that opened the water valve, I greased that ball and pedal returned as it should. Maybe your model is similar? My toilet is a Sealand I think?
