Our hearts and prayers are with you...Bob @ Judy from BK gathering.
I just talked to the hospital to get an update on libby, she was resting but still very unstable and under critical care, they did a preliminary work up on her during the night and her blood gases and enzimes showed cardiac involvement, her kidneys are barely functioning with a createnine level of 8.6, they are continuing to monitor her closely while the doctors come up with a game plan, meanwhile she is on support, the doctor wasn't available to talk to and the information was very scketchy at best from the nurse, they said I couldn't talk to her and they are under quarenteen right now cause of the flu so I can't even visit her yet. Thats all I know so far.
Bummer, Cody. That is tough. I pray that she pulls through okay...
God bless,
John

I just got a chance to talk to libby's doctor, he said that her kidney function is not satisfactory and he is scheduling dialysis for her, the main problem seems to have stemmed from her kidney function failing creating a chain reaction that her body couldn't fight, he is hopeful that the dialysis will help her tho he says it may not be more than a temporary help and not a cure, he said they are hopeful but guarded at this time, thats all I know so far. As soon as they will allow visitors I'll be heading that way, I may even take the bus and stay down there for a while, I called around and there are no campgrounds open but Camp Wallyworld may be available, still don't know much tho.
Cody, Many hospitals allow family to stay on the hospital grounds with an RV. Check into what the hospital has available first.
Cody,
I am very sorry. I am still praying for you all.
God bless,
John
Brian I checked on the hospital parking lots, they are all gated limited access and I can't get the bus into them so was told I couldn't use them, the public parking is a ramp style with several decks and not enough clearance for the bus.
So sorry to hear the news , once again. It is starting to sound a little more possitive though, at least that's how I would take it. I know you have good care there. My thoughts are definitly with you guys, hang in there buddy.
Grant
Cody;
Sorry to here this, hang in there We are praying for Libby and you. You must take care of yourself so you can take care of Libby.
Let me know if there is anything I can do for the both of you.
Don
Cody, you might try to contact churches near the hospital. They usually have large parking lots and would probably be more than happy to let you park there given the circumstances.
Praying for Libby and you...
Kevin
Cody our prayers are with you and libby
We were lucky in Tenn. The coach was the talk of the hospital. Every one seemed to take time to check it out even my surgeon. When it came time to go home he said if i was riding in the bus ,I could leave 2 days early. He knew the ride was so much softer and more comfortable than a car.
Uncle ned and wilma
Ps your face along with Bryce was a pleasant surprise to see.Wish I could do the same for libby
It was good to see you then, you looked surprisingly good for someone that had just been thru a heart attack lol, tomorrow is libby's birthday, I can't think of anywhere I'd rather not be on my birthday lol.
Cody,
I'm sure you have checked already, but just in case,... I was looking at the hospital website and they have Beacon House available for family members to stay.
I'll be taking the bus down as soon as they allow visiters at the hospital. There is a walmart not too far from it and I've found a couple of university parking lots that are close and unused.
I'm not exactly sure which hospital she's in but we were involved in a serious accident near West Branch.
My friend, close best friend at the time was on life support in Saginaw, I didn't leave for a month after I was realeased. There was a facility near the hospital that provided food and a room on a donation basis. Something like that might be worth checking into. We feel quite helpless out here, however last time you said she really enjoyed all the cards, what do you say guys , lets get some cards over there so when her door opens and she feels up to it she has something to look at. Cody is her address the same as last time?

Guys I am quite sure she'd love some cards! Also I just found out tomorrow is her birthday! I can't even imagine how lonely and sad it would be to be stuck in a hospital so far away from home/family & friends on your birthday! :'(
:'( BK :(
Hey BK do you know if her address is the same as last time?
Last time......Alice Clishe (libby),,,,, 206 Maple Street,,,,, Baraga, Michigan,,,49908. ?????????????
I'm sure she would love some cards, that maple street address is jamies home address where we've been hanging out, she is in Marquette General Hospital, 580 west college, marquette, michigan 49855, Rm 626
Sorry to hear this Cody. I'll keep her in my prayers also.

Hi, We have never met yall, but, we wish you well, and will be praying for you both.
Cody: I am sorry to hear Libby is in the hospital again. We will keep you and Libby in prayer during this trying time.
About parking your bus ... Looking at the new parking map from Marquette General Hospital, there is a new ground level parking space reserved for visitors. It is behind the Express Care Walk-In Clinic and Emergency Department (in the area of College Avenue, Seventh Street and Magnetic Street). I would call the Main Office in the hospital and tell them that your wife is there in Extensive Care and since you live so far away from the hospital, you have a motor home (never say bus conversion) and I wonder if there is any way I could park there close by the hospital for a few days while she is in Emergency Care. Or call the Chamber of Commerce or the Police Department and see what their suggestions would be. Whatever you do, never say you have a bus conversion ... just say you have a large motor home.

Keep in touch and hope things will improve for Libby and that you will be able to stay near her.
Sojourn for Christ,
Gerald
Gerald, unfortunately that parking area has a steep entry, i'd high side on it, I'm going down today with my truck and visit with her after jamie gets home from school, the university has a large parking area about a half block from the hospital that I may be able to use, if not then walmart is only a few blocks over on the bypass. I was able to talk to her for a few minutes last night, she is very upset and scared about the dialysis, they moved her IV over to her other arm so they can put in the port, I think she is just sick of being sick. Me and jamie are going to buy her a bunch of balloons and a card when we go past walmart today is her birthday, it may cheer her up somewhat.
Cody,
I am glad that she was able to talk with you. Dialysis really isn't that bad. We have had friends that went through that. They were able to do it at home, and the lady said that the hassle of the process more than repaid itself in how much better she felt.
Have a safe trip today. I am praying for you all!
God bless.
John
Hopefully she'll feel better after it, I'm not sure what is all involved but I'm told that the marquette hospital is the closest place they offer it here, if she has to go thru it on any kind of a regular basis that is going to be difficult, especially in the winter, the hospital is about 90 miles away from us. One of her kidneys is atrophyied and shrunken the other seems to be damaged somehow but they are hoping that it will get better, just too many unknowns to suit me right now. I'd like a "do over" for the last 18 months so I could run and hide lol.
Sad to hear Libbys in hospital again. Dialysis may give her enough of a break that she can recover her own kidney function and not have to be 'tied' to the machine. My dad went through this and the dialysis bought him a bunch more time.
You and Libby are in our thoughts.
Mark and Donna
We send our prayers up for Libby. We also hope that once she is home you can give her the birthday treatment that she deserves. We send her our best wishes.
Cody We'll be praying for both of you

She is doing better! She's in room 626 like Cody said. The direct # to her is
1-906-225-3626.
I just got off the phone with her. She sounded great, and was in good spirits. She said to thank everyone for the get well wishes & prayers. She said she'll be there at least until Monday or Tuesday. They don't know for sure yet, but it will be that long before they run some more of the tests they want to run and that will determine if she's ready to go home or not! ;D
;D BK ;D
AWESOME NEWS!!!!
Praise the Lord - & thanks for the update Knuckle!
Kind Regards, Phil
;D ;D ;D
I just got back from visiting libby, she is looking better but still very weak, they got all kinds of arm bands on her, one says "fall hazard" another says ," no blood pressure taken on this arm" another says, "no IV's on this arm" all kinds of cool stuff, no idea what it all means but she is decorated nicely.they are watching her closely and have a bunch of tests lined up for her next week.
Cody,
Glad to hear that she is doing better. I know what the "fall hazard" one means...It is actually a personality code. It means that she is spirited, and will fight to recover quickly ;D.
Thanks for the update. I am still praying for you all.
God bless,
John
I was so tired last night when I got back from visiting libby I couldn't really do a fair report on her, according to her doctors she won't be out of the woods for a while, one of her kidneys is shrunken and the blood vessel feeding it is narrowed badly, they are discussing putting in a stent to open up the vessel and hopefully get the kidney functioning a little better, the other kidney is slowly doing it's job but not as well as they would like, next week they are going to run another battery of tests to see what can be done to help her, thruout this she seems to be maintaining good spirits. I took the laptop to her and let her read the get well wishes on this thread, she cryed like a baby, one of the nurses had brought her a stuffed monkey like the old sock monkeys from years ago, it's pink and she was holding it, it's been named monk-a-monk lol. She has a small lineup of flowers on her window sill and she has gotten several cards and phone calls, she is feeling the love and friendship on this board and i think thats going to play a deciding role in her recovery, the past 18 months have been pure helll for us with everything going on and without the friends we've made here I'm not sure we could have gotten thru it all. They did a CT scan of her head and found nothing, that doesn't surprise me, she has been giving me a piece of her mind for so many years now I can't see how their could be any left. lol
Cody,
Thanks so much for the update. I haven't met you all, but next time you are there, please give her a hug for me.
What a praise that she is doing better. I am still praying for both of you.
God bless,
John

We r still here following along... Keep us posted ! Glad to hear she's doing better.
John and Jean
Cody,
Sending Libby a BIG virtual HUG, keeping you and Libby in my prayers.Hugs Peabody
I talked to libby today and her doctor, she went thru a rearendectomy today with the firehose but she said it was easy she slept thru it, they did find some stuff they sent out for a look at by the lab but no news on that yet. The doctor said she will have to have regular blood workups for a while like once a week or so until they see her creatinine levels drop and stay down, then they are going to cut her in half and put a stent in to get better blood flow to the shrunken kidney, she is hoping to come home at some point this week. The doctor said he couldn't remember anyone surviving a creatinine level higher than 9, she managed to hit 8.6, she always has to push the limits. The biggest thing we'll have to deal with is she needs 24hr help for a while, somebody has to be with her at all times for a while, I was hoping maybe jennifer lopez would maybe volunteer but maybe not. I guess we'll just take it a day at a time for a while but I'm getting pooing out, one good thing is that I'm a slacker and can be close by most of the time.
Comming home is great news..Even if its a few days away !! And good luck with the J Lo thing... Maybe someone here could make a few phone calls.. Id try but you'd probably end up with Phyllis Diller !
Cody,
Thanks for the update! Did you give her a big hug for me?
That is great that she is doing better. I am still praying for you all.
God bless,
John
I just got a call from libby's nurse with an update on her, libby had a rough night, she has developed some severe breathing problems and a ventilator is on standby in her room. They are also discussing the possibility of her being transported to Ann Arbor, down to the university of michigan hospital to have the aorta bypassed on her kidneys, one kidney is gone but the other kidney is got a blockage that is restricting the blood to her kidney and causeing a lot of her problems, I asked how she would be transported and she said an air lift would be brought in from Traverse City but that is still being discussed and they arn't sure she is strong enough for it, so it doesn't look like she will be coming home just yet. The options available right now is if the resperatory problems clear up, she may be able to come home for a while and possibly exist on dialysis 3 times a week, she will still need the aorta bypassed at the constriction in her kidney and this hospital can't do it, they won't risk it, they say a surgeon at the ann arbor hospital is the closest that has any success with that, he has reviewed her case but has not agreed to accept her yet. Her doctor has declared her totally disabled and completely incapacitated at this point. I asked the doctor about maybe checking me or jamie to see if we could give her a kidney but the doctor said it's not the kidneys fault, it's the plumbing to it, he said she has a heavy build up of scale thru her arteries that they can't risk breaking any of it loose.
Cody so sad to hear this "new" news! It was so good to talk to her on Friday (her birthday) and hear how upbeat and positive she was about getting to come home this week! And now she's gone the other way, but there is hope. Hopefully they will be able to get her down to Ann Arbor and fix that plumbing problem!
Now don't you go to Lowes buying stuff and trying to re-plumb her like you did the Eagle!
Keep us posted and by all means if you need ANYTHING call us!
:( BK :(
Sorry to hear Cody, but thanks for the update.
Grant
Cody,
I can't help you with the J lo thing but I do have a speedo, that might cheer her up....or at least keep her laughing ;D ;D
Hopefully all works out well in AnnArbor we need Libbys spirts up and thinking positive in these trying times.
Just remember the speedo is only a phone call away ;D
I got the word a little bit ago, Ann Arbor has refused to accept her.
Oh man..
I'll keep praying for the best.
Glenn
The hospital has done all they say they can, I'm bringing her home tomorrow. I'll do my best to care for her.
Cody, you know that if there was any way we could be there to help you with her care we would be. Since we can't be with you we do send our prayers and our love for you, Libby and the girls.
d a m n .
Cody, my heart is breaking for you you and Libby. We will definitely be praying for something to work out.
I am very concerned about you guys being 90 miles from where she will have to go for dialysis 3 times a week. Not only because of the miles of driving, but also the tendancy for winter weather to interfere with the ability to get her there. Is there any way you can live closer to where the dialysis will be done, either there or in a southern climate?
Mike, I don't know anything about what we've got coming up, I don't have any idea what it'll be like or anything like that, all I know is that it's what we've got to do right now. This is only a speed bump, we'll figure it out, libby enjoyed everything at BK's but she wore down fast, we just have to adjust our life to whatever she can do and not worry about what she can't do anymore.
Cody,
I am so sorry that things are doing better. That has to be so tough.
I am still praying for you all.
God bless,
John
Cody,
Sorry to hear Ann Arbor would not take her. I used to own a non emergency medical transport company in Missouri and had several clients that I took to Dialysis three times a week. It is important to be able to get her to them as scheduled. And being where you live you have worse weather than what we typically experienced in MO. Do you have a location in Marquette that you can park the bus at to get you closer to the Dialysis center?
Hope things improve,
Bryan
I am still praying for Libby, you and the doctors/nurses to comfort her and the cure that she need,
As per Bryan suggested might your better choice so Libby can get quicker supports from the hospital and not have to shovel snow at home to allow easier assess for the paramedic's crew. As you well know Cody...you need to make it easier for self so you won't get exhausted and/or hurt yourself doing the things whenever the emergency arises.
I would think it be better yet to rent a apartment so in case of emergency you have room for paramedic to assist her onto stretcher right out of bed. I think your bus's hall way is too narrow.
Whatever you do...I will be praying.
Gerald & Lynette
I'll be leaving shortly to go and pick up libby, renting an apartment won't work because of the cost, they start at around 450 for a very basic one up here thats somewhat livable, thats more than the hospital lawyers have been allowing me to keep, so thats not an option, but I appreciate the thought, we'll fight each battle as it comes up and do the best we can, we are exploring several options including the possibibilty of her moving in with her sister in Illinois, her sister lives in peoria and said that may work too. If that could happen that would free me up to pursue the work that is so critical to our existance right now and help me with her care. We're looking at a lot of possibilitis.
Cody,
We are so sorry to hear this latest news about Libby. I wish there was something we could do to help, but since we are so far away, I don't think there is much we can do except keep thinking of ya'll and keep ya'll in our prayers. I am glad we had the opportunity to catch up with ya'll in Michigan last summer for our brief visit. Jack
I brought back libby from the hospital yesterday, the hospital has determined that they can do no more for her so now it's going to be up to us to do what has to be done, we have been told that the university hospital in ann arbor is one of the few that actually do the surgury that is needed to fix her so we are working towards that goal. If we are very careful with her diet and do weekly blood work we may be able to avert or at least delay dialysis for a while so thats all for now. She is very weak and fragile right now but resting, between me and jamie she won't be alone.
Cody, glad to hear she's home. That alone has to help the healing process... Our prayers are still with you guys every day..
John and Jean
So sorry to hear what Libby and you are going through,I know I can be of no help but I can send you a huge virtual hug and send Libby some healing vibes and if that doesn't work I'm also keeping y'all in my prayers. Big Hugs Peabody
