Title: Storm windows
Post by: cody on October 25, 2009, 07:53:27 AM
Today is special, my annual storm window project ends today with the handing over of the last 6 of 42 storm windows to the community action agency up here, now I can get back to piling up my own sawdust lol.  Each year community action asks me to make storm windows for the old farts around here that need their homes tightened up and each year I generally whack together between 40 and 60 of them, the material is all donated and I donate the labor for them so it all is just a feel good program for me. Just for grins I tallyed up the windows over the last 20 years and it's around 750 of them, not bad for an old fart lol. I gotta say BUS here so it makes it on topic and even one of the old guys got an old GM that he uses for a hunting camp and a schoolie with the smoke stack out the window from the wood stove lol, gotta love a small area.

Good for you, Cody. Glad to hear that you help out like that. It is nice that the world still has some of your type around ;D.

God bless,

John

John, up here we all pitch in, thats just the way life is in a small town, a lumber yard donates the wood, a glass shop donates the glazing and a local contractor takes them and fits them and seals them in, and that all after a local bunch of house wives have washed the windows done whatever painting had to be done and even in most cases provided a lunch for everyone, it's a small town thing, but sadly one that is disappearing fast.
