I have automotive insurance for my bus, but I'd like to get something comparable to a renters or homeowners policy for the contents (which my auto insurance doesn't really cover).
If, for example, someone breaks into my bus and steals my stereo or computers, how can I insure their value?
I've been trying to find a company that does 'homeowners' insurance for our mobile homes but have not succeeded yet. Suggestions?
Full timers insurance. If you are not a full timer your homeowners ins should cover. Ask your agent.
Right. And where do I get full-timers?
My homeowners only covers 10% when not at 'home' where 'home' is a physical address.
I went to State Farm and obtained the equivilent of Renters INsurance. Laws vary from state to state so It would be a good idea to talk to an insurance agent. JIm
Hi Davey,
There are only a few carriers that offer 'Fulltimer's Insurance', or so we discovered many years ago. We currently have our toad under State Farm because we like their package and price, but they don't offer a 'Fulltimer Package' so we have the bus under Hartford through AARP. Everything is insured just like a home on terra firma. Progressive offers a Fulltimer package also, (we had them originally) but was a little more spendy without the AARP discount. I have to admit though, their 'Fulltimer Package' was pretty inclusive and didn't leave anything to question. We carry roadside coverage on the bus through another AARP carrier because Hartford has a measely $75. limit on towing, which anyone will tell you won't hardly bring out the right truck LOL. Hope this helps, Will

I actually had my renter's policy through State Farm, but they told me they need a physical address, and anything claims off that site (such as on the bus) were only at 10% of the max.
So, if you have a 60k policy, for example, then you are only covered for $6k on the bus.
Did they tell you differently? Maybe it's a per state or per office thing.
Maybe I'll check with progressive.
