Title: The bus is nicer than the house
Post by: jok on October 19, 2009, 06:28:03 PM
I am guessing I may not be the only one to have heard from the better half that something in or on the bus is better than the house. Luckily I don't hear it often, but I guess to some extent it may be true.

We had a flat screen TV in the bus two years before we got one for the house. The cabinets in the bus are solid wood, but the house has expensive particle board (we thought it would be solid wood when we ordered them).

I have seen some pictures of your beautiful conversions, so I have to wonder. Is there something in your bus that is nicer than in your house (unless your bus is your "house").

I noticed that too.  My wife is a whole lot nicer when we are on the bus ;D

Better solitude.   I have three sons (ages 10, 12, 17) and more often than not there are one or more of their friends over at our house.  Usually results in a noise level just below an idling 747.    I have been know to retreat to the bus for the peace and quiet.

The "Turtle Effect". We like the fact that no matter were we drift in this great country, we have all of our stuff at our finger tips. All the Best, M&C ;D

Is is usually a lot cheaper to install fancy/high quality things in a bus than a house. A good example is wood flooring. You can buy the most expensive stuff there is and it will cost a fraction in the bus of what it would cost in the house simply due to the fact that the sqr. footage in the bus is so small. A few hundred in the bus, a few (or many) thousand in the house.

My bus is almost always cleaner than my house unless I am working on it.  I insist on it being clean when we leave on a trip and we always clean it after a trip.

My house is much nicer than my bus, but my house is usually pretty messy, often because I am spending all my time working on the bus.

I often sleep in my bus during winter cause it's much snuggier in there than my house, and better heated!
My girlfriend likes it for much the same reasons...
