Title: Left side air bags!
Post by: steve5B on October 17, 2009, 04:46:01 PM

   Good evening,

I have , what seems to be a problem the left side air bags will not inflate.  This has never happened before, would this be a

big fix or minor?  The right side front and back are ok.

Check the leveling valve, at the back on the offending side. Maybe the arm is broken or disconnected?

happy coaching!

The reason you look at the back leveling valve on the side that isn't up is that on an MCI 5, which from your name you may well have, the front air bags on both sides share a common leveling valve, they just hold the front of the bus up and have nothing to do with level.  The rear air suspension is independant side to side so they are what holds the bus level.

Apologize if you knew this already   :)

If in doubt about the leveling valve             replace it . I just replaced all of mine they were less than $50 ea solved a lot of air loss problems.also look for pinched air line. Does your air hold pressure or drop very quickly when you shut your engine down?? listen around leveling valve could be broken inside letting air go straight thru not to bag..good luck and let us know what you find...
