Title: Flx Starliner
Post by: kyle4501 on October 16, 2009, 06:10:33 AM
Anyone seen this? The link was posted on another board & it seems like a good project for someone(else)  ;D

http://www.flxibleowners.org/aaf/giolma/giolma.htm (http://www.flxibleowners.org/aaf/giolma/giolma.htm)

I used to think they were almost as cool as a Scenicruiser.

After looking at Dave & Carol Lang's this past weekend, I'm having to reconsider. . . . They just might be as cool.  :o

You should get that one Kyle since it would fit in your building :D

But, what would I do with all the junk stuff that is currently filling the building?

Easy,  create a middle level on one side,  there is plenty of volume there. :D

Don't mean to pee on your parade, but you don't want to go with a Starliner.
Remember our discussion....FOCUS!!!  12 step program!   ;D :D ;)

1. Get a BIG carport up in your backyard.  Park the Air Stream in it.  A foil to distract the neighbors.
2. Hang some sides on the temp carport.  Hide the Air Stream
3. Remove Air stream.  Insert best of lot SceniCruiser.  Best done at 2AM.
4. Call legal team when neighbors discover what you've started in your backyard... :o
5. Work fast.  Use Sun Machine.  Finish Sceni before court date.
6. Consume adult beverage...describe this as 'planning' event.
7. I forgot the rest of the plan....hmmm ???
8. Consume adult beverage.  Play with Sun Machine.
9. Go to QuickCheck for....supplies.
10.  I still forget....

I'd buy (maybe) that Starliner if it was nearby.  Clearly has potential.  But way too far away.

JR

Sorry.  I'm already apologizing.

I got those sun machines home because of a good friend offered to give them a ride for me. That friend refused to allow me to pay him for his time. Too bad for me, 'cause some day he is gonna call me with a request.

Gonna break my heart to tell him no.  ;D

Oh, wait. He already did call one in - something about a quick trip to Mo to pick up some trash scenicruiser bus seats. He is lots better than I am tho, he actually convinced me I NEEDED some of those seats!  :o

I'll say this much about my scenicruiser busnut friends - NEVER a dull moment! ;D

Ok, this is four times trying to post these wonderful photos of a restored and repowered Flx. I'll find one photo that is under 128k, what a dumbass low limit given the high definition digital photos being produced by even the cheapest digital camera today. Somebody ought to change that setting and fast!

I may try to find some more tiny pics. Unfortunately the ones of the exterior are larger than 128k.

Pic #4. That's all folks. I took more but they are all 134k or bigger. Enjoy what you got and I'll continue to enjoy the rest.

SO much better and easier to post at photobucket and then copy paste the image links on your post.  The pic quality is higher and you can paste the IMG link elsewhere where there are limits...also a good place to keep your pics in case of loss.

Looks like Dave's bus. If you think he did a good job on that bus, you should taste some of his cooking! The man sure knows his way around a grill!

Some of us have slow internet access & the huge pictures take a long time to load.

It is simple to re-size if you have Windows Picture & Fax Viewer:
- open picture in windows pic & fax viewer
- edit picture with Paint (ctrl+E)
- under the IMAGE tab drop down menu, choose Stretch/Skew (ctrl+W)
- In the stretch box change the horozontal & vertical to the same percentage to reduce file size.
- save with a different file name.
- close paint
- check file size of new picture & adjust your percentage # as desired to get picture size required.

Where is this Flx located? Sure is a beautiful coach!

We had several Flx's at TBR this year, it was great seeing all the shiny SS!

I aggree on using PhotoBucket, much easier and we get to view a larger picture. "The only way to fly".

The Flx in the photos I took belongs to Dave from Nashville North Carolina. Yes, there really is a Nashville in NC. Its just west of Rocky Mount, NC.

Thanks for the advice on Photobucket. I'll look into it. As far as doing the Paint thing, takes too much time and wastes additional hard disk space on my computer.

. . . . As far as doing the Paint thing, takes too much time and wastes additional hard disk space on my computer.

That's why I delete the small photos when done. . . . Once you get the hang of it, takes very little time.

Photo bucket still doesn't help with the slow internet issue, so, for me, the photo bucket high res photos take too long to view - especially if it is just a casual observation.

Different strokes for different folks . . . good that there are so many choices. . .  ;)
