Title: vinyl and foam
Post by: ruthi on October 12, 2009, 05:52:03 PM
Just wondering, what kind of vinyl and foam is best to use in a conversion for wall and ceiling? Where do you purchase it? We have some teak wood that we are going to use on the ceiling in the front. We dont want to use wood on the walls too. We have looked at wall board, but there doesnt seem to be much out there as far as choices. The floor is going to be tile.  Any suggestions?

If you go up to Elkhart you'll find a lot of selection in wall board if you want to go that route.  I would suggest anyone doing a conversion plan a trip to Elkhart to visit the surplus dealers.  Not always the best prices, but you get some ideas.

On the walls we used luan covered with qult batting then fastened fabric over the batting. This produced a soft touch added sound controland a easily changable solution.  On the ceiling we used prepared panels we made the same way covered with marine vinyl with buttons every foot to help hold in place and to enhance look.  You can go to the west tn bus nut gathering and see the results..Bob & Judy 89 prevost. Good luck there is no right or wrong way...
