Jeremy asked about my new audio system and how I ended up hooking up the amplifier. I've created a new thread rather than clutter up the other.
My audio system consists of a Pioneer DEH-5100UB receiver along with a Pioneer GM-6400F four channel amplifier and six Pioneer speakers.
Both the amp and the receiver are connected to my house electrical system for power. I used an extra switch on the dash to act as the ignition switch to power the system on/off. The rear channel on the receiver is connected to the amplifier via RCA cables. I used RCA splitter cables at the amplifier to get the sound to all four channels.
It worked right from the first time I powered it on with the exception of a loose wire to one speaker. The audio quality seems pretty good to me, but I am no audiophile.
Added as an afterthought: The receiver is way too complex and has too many features. I can't figure out how to change the fader setting without using the remote.
