As editor of BCM, I have made it a goal to present a quality product to our readers on a monthly basis. Fundamental to achieving this goal is approaching the editing and proofreading aspect of the position with equal parts vigilance and pride. It therefore pained me to discover that mistakes were made last month in the article titled, "Eagle Suspension and Alignment Procedure."
Daniel Lenz submitted a comprehensive technical piece. Daniel's knowledge of the topic is profoundly evident and I'd like to absolve him of any culpability in the errors. My unfamiliarity with the topic and a hyper-vigilant spell check are the culprits here.
Rest assured, that BCM has added additional steps to our proofreading protocol to ensure that problems of this ilk will not render their ugly heads with any frequency.
If you would like a revised article via email, please send your request to chad@busconversions.com.
The mistakes are as follows:
Pg.18 reads: I feel it is important to talk about the torsion bar suspension on Eagle Coaches. First of all, it was commonly referred to as "Orgiastic Suspension and was a trademark of B.F. Goodrich.
The correct sentence should read: I feel it is important to talk about the torsion bar suspension on Eagle Coaches. First of all, it was commonly referred to as "Torsilastic Suspension and was a trademark of B.F. Goodrich.
Pg. 19: The terms spine(s) and splint(s) were mistakenly used instead of the correct terms spline and splines.
Apologies,
Chad
Chad,
No problem, I understood what you meant to say in the article.

:o :o I was wondering why the "MPDW (Movement for the Protection of Deformed Word)" was organizing protestations worldwide!! ;D ;D
A bail out been issued.

Hey, I want my next coach to have "Orgiastic Suspension." We've got plain old air bags now, and the coach just bounces around so uncontrollably during those orgies that we've had to cut back ;D

When I read it, I just figured that was why Eagle owners were so enthusiastic about their buses ;) ;)
I kind of liked the Orgiastic thing too. Don't scientists sometimes call mistakes breakthroughs? Maybe you guys were onto something there. In the future don't be so quick to apologize.
Wow, I knew there was a reason I liked my Eagle ;)
After I heard about the creative spell check "option", I thought I had better check my article. Chad used my text in total and only did some minor paragraph title modifications.
I have the benefit of a great editor (Pat, my wife of 45 years). She really digs in and catches some easy to miss errors.

No wonder "Dreamscape" is so happy all the time! Hee Hee
