Title: Anyone using a dishwasher in their coach ?
Post by: scanzel on October 07, 2009, 10:11:28 AM
Does anyone have a dishwasher in their coach other than the male or female kind ? If so what kind did you choose and size. After being with some friends in their Bounder this past weekend and seeing the amount dishes accumulating I thought it might not be a bad idea to put in a small 24"or 18" unit.

We have an 18" wide GE dishwasher.  Costs as much as a standard 24"  It uses 6 gallons for a full cycle.  I ran it into a pail one time to check it.   My wife wouldn't be without it.   Before we installed it the sink was always full of dirty stuff.   I built the coach with an 18" cabinet that was ready to receive a dishwasher if I every wanted one.   Well, that was after 2 trips in the coach.  I have more "oh wow, you have a dishwasher", from folks who tour my coach than any of my other handywork in the bus.  Other RV'ers must really miss having one.

Sorry, about the first picture.  The door is closed, but the lighting was really bad.

Must be moving along very nicely on that prevost. I am the one who sent the window to you.
Yes, the wife chose a dish drawer. Local couple had it on craigslist, bought it brand new still in the box for $400. 22" wide, 12" tall and 19" deep. She thinks it will do all we need for the two of us with occassional guests.

I thought about it, but then I realized that it would make the paper plates too soggy to use again.

We use paper everything plus eat in restaurants as much as possible, these trips are supposed to be a vacation for her also!!

However, we mostly travel. Full timing is another matter altogether.
