An interesting page from the 4104 Parts Manual showing the telegraphic code that was used in business communications at the time. A telegram was the fastest way to send a message and was charged by the word. These short cuts were to keep the word count to a minimum.
Yup. Telegraph was a major communications tool long after telephones were introduced. Most people today either don't know or don't remember what AT&T stands for - American Telephone & Telegraph.
