Has anyone tried these? It looks like this guy has a number of different bulbs that could be substituted for standard bulbs. I have not done any comparison shopping or contacted him about reduced cost or shipping for volume buys.

It looks like it. There are also some 4" round LEDs that are met to replace the standard round stop & tail lights you find on a lot of trucks & trailers. I even thought about removing my existing lens, removing the bulb socket, securing the round LED light in the hole & replacing the lens.
I am just wondering about the candle power (lumens)...

I believe Sean has mentioned in the past that using these generally invalidates the DOT approval of the light fixture. The light fixture was designed around a certain incandescant bulb. The LED bulbs are not likely to generate light in the same way.
It is up to each bus owner if they want to take the chance on this.

These are not legal to use in any required fixture, to include stop lamps, turn signals, ID, marker, and clearance lamps, and parking lamps on vehicles so equipped.
If you have fixtures designed for incandescent bulbs, they are only legal if that's what you have in them. If you want to go LED, get approved LED fixtures. Unlike a few years ago, they are dirt cheap now. There's really no excuse for using these unlawful retrofits. You might never get caught, but if you get involved in an accident, even one not your fault, a sharp lawyer for the opposition could make hay out of this. Why risk it to save only a couple of bucks?

I suspect the reason folks are using LED replacement bulbs is because they can't get LED fixtures that match the original fixtures. No idea why to use LED bulbs other than they last longer. Regular bulbs are generally dirt cheap.
When I converted to LEDs I covered over the OEM light fixtures and install new LED fixtures. No, they don't match the original, but I don't care either.
I have tried several LED replacements and was never happy with the way the lights looked.
They were always very dim so I just got DOT rated LED's and used them
I liked them so well I added a set on the toad and wired them up to a toad harness
In my opinion don't waste your time with replacement bulbs

The only reason I was looking at the bulbs was I want to keep the original looking fixtures. but I like the instantaneous on-off effect of LEDs.
I will keep my incandescents.

I just ordered some 24 volt DOT LED 7" red stop/tail/turn lights that I hope will be a drop in replacement for the big stop lights on my MCI. when I get them I'll post how they turned out. I decided to stay with incandescents in the stock fixtures for the 5.125" amber and red turn signal and running lights, but I will be installing new lenses and making sure the reflectors are up to snuff, get them as bright as possible. LED replacements for the 5 1/8" lights seem to be unobtainable.

I had one because I need it for the cruise and I just ran it through relays -- standard setup
The oval fixtures were less money than I spent on some bulbs

Remember, he is looking for drop-ins for the MCI 5.125" rounds. SAE ovals are a dime a dozen, and are also widely available in 24 volt.

Below are the vendors I have purchased DOT fixtures from in the past 2 years. The last link has mostly "non-DOT" (per Sean) LED's. Very happy with all of them and their products. Didn't list the one's I'm not happy with.
Unfortunately, the world doesn't use 5.75" round fixtures any longer, so I never have run across them, LED or incandescent. As you will see, most everything is (in round) 4". I had a similar problem with a missing reflector. Talked to Luke and several others, and went to several salvage yards. No luck. Had to use something new.
The LED's are getting brighter. I purchased some non-DOT "bulbs" from the last vendor below, that replaced my number 67 bulbs in cab clearance lights I purchased several years ago. They are red lens and mounted on the back of the van. Interestingly, the red LED "bulbs" are brighter than the 67 bulbs originally installed. The lenses on these fixtures have a tendency to crack when removed so now that problem solved, plus they are brighter and take one-tenth the energy.
I followed Jack Conrad's lead and now except for headlights, all exterior lights on bus and van are LED.
One important caveat: If you have an application you decide to replace incandescent bulb with LED, be sure the LED is the same color as the fixture's lens. White LED's have a very narrow color spectrum unlike incandescent bulbs. For example, I purchased red LED's to replace the 67 bulbs because the white LED (while very bright) looked very dim through the red plastic lens. Tested both with dramatic results. The same for amber lens.
