Title: A good day working on the bus
Post by: belfert on September 20, 2009, 06:47:42 PM
I got a lot done on my bus today.  The headlights are back in, all my LED lights work, the auxiliary lights work, the inverter is fixed, and I got cables made to charge the house bank from the bus alternator.  I also got about 1/3 of my new stereo system installed.

I'm about a full 8 or 10 hour day behind where I would like to be, but I still have over a week before I leave.  Almost everything still remaining is nice to have stuff, not required.

OK, then it's time to change your sig line to 76% or maybe 77% complete!   ;D

Brian, I always look forward to this time of the year when you start getting ready for your trip ;D ;D ;D ;D

I can relate to your "panic" to get things done.

This is the first year that someone has not asked you why you wait till the last minute ;D ;D ;D

Have a great trip!!!!

Jim

I am in a way better position than the last two years.  The last two years we were still working on the bus up until the moment we left in the evening.  Last year we had a problem with the tail lights and it delayed us an hour while we jury rigged things.

Right now, everything for the bus to be road worthy is done.  90 minutes worth of work and we could be on the road.  The stuff I am doing now is installing some extras like a new audio system.

The bus spent nearly a month at the shop this summer getting the windshield replaced so I couldn't work on it for a good chunk of the summer.  I did spend about 40 hours in August installing LED lights.  The new wiring harness took a long time to build as each wire splits off multiple times.
