Title: THREE Spotted Flying Eagles!!!
Post by: John316 on September 16, 2009, 04:08:52 PM
Wow, this is incredible! We clocked three eagles doing 100 mph, on I 70 EB. Even more amazing? We passed every one, and took pics ;D ;D ;D.

Just kidding. They were moving along at a nice fuel conserving speed. I was glad because we were able to take a good look at them and take some pics.

I have a couple of ideas who they were, but don't know for sure. Anybody know? I figure they are going to the Kansas rally...

God bless,

John

And the plates for the last one.

Sorry all of the pics are from the backside. That is how we take our pics of the elk too, from the backside (they always turn away ;D ;D ;D)

Thanks, Clifford. I figured that the first one was Wayne's. Nice rig! He had mentioned that the Pratt's were at his place too.

We are back home right now, and are going to head out again for AR tomorrow, and then heading out all over the East coast.

God bless,

John

John, I thought that might be you. Very nice MCI you are traveling in. I always take up the rear to pick up all the rust colored parts ;D. Sorry we missed you hope you enjoyed you stay in Estes Park. If you are ever back this way stop in and say Hi. Have a safe trip home.

Wayne,

It was nice to be able to see you all. You are so kind to pick up all of the rust. If you want to know the real reason that we passed you all, was because we were concerned that your eagles might contaminate our bus, and cause it to rust more ;D ;D ;D. Just kidding. (With our bus being from NJ, area, and being a Peter Pan, we had a lot of rust, that we have taken care of).

We arrived back at our house right around 3:45. We stopped for fuel at the Topeka Oasis. It was too bad that the speed limit isn't 75 all of the way back. We were up at 5:00, and rolling by 5:45 this morning. We parked the night at our friends place, in Bennet, CO.

We did have a very nice time in RMNP. We loved it there. Next year (if we can get a chance to go back, and if we do, we will probably do Long's peak), we would take a little longer up there, because we just didn't have quite enough time, but it was still good. If we do go, next time, we will probably trailer another vehicle up. Some of those roads (particularly Trailridge road) were pretty exciting in the bus.

I am now a firm believer in Jakes!

BTW, Wayne, you have a VERY nice looking rig. Who did your mural? Thanks for the offer to stop if we can when we are out there. We will keep that in mind.

God bless,

John

John, The mural was done by a young man that worked at The Paint Department in Chino California. A very tallented person. My wife and I love to fish for Walleye. I ask him to paint a Walleye getting ready to eat a Bass. He looked at me with a strange look and I figured out he had no idea what I was talking about. I gave him a few pictures of each fish. He set up a scaffold with these pictures on it and went to work.  It is very life like. The further south I go the more dirty looks I get.

Thank you Wayne

All I can say is that two of the three are pulling (or being pushed by) Jeeps, so Eagle owners must have some class.  ;D

Ed, I agree. I do think that they are migrating. Of course, they migrate just as we are leaving :'(.

Neat! The jeeps pushing the Eagles, that we passed, must have been remote controlled ;D. These Eagle owners are just to sophisticated for me ::) ;D.

If I had a choice of a toad, it would probably be a jeep. Not to mention, they do add quite the touch of class. Wayne's jeep looked especially neat.

Clifford, what kind do you have?

God bless,

John
