I was watching carefully one of the local auctions and found 5 neoplan
97 model transitliners were coming up.
Closer looking I found out that all were equipped with DD Series 50 and Allison V-731R
transmissions. 4 of them could be driven and one had a bad transmission but the engine ran.
Oh ohoooo... I thought, Then I looked at my finances.... Nope not this time..
So I called a buddy in Florida and he had another buddy with a Buffalo that needed to
be repowered... WoW.....
Ok so I gave them the info and the bidding war was on.. When all said and done the highest price bus went for 1,200.00 and the lowest was $500 and the
guy in Florida got his for $1,177.00.... Such a sweet deal for a runner!!!
I checked today and he picked up his new toy and was doing the Interstate Boogey
happily @65 mph headed back to Florida. No work or parts needed.
Now he gets to sit and ponder the task of transplanting the DD 50 to his Buffalo
and now with all the parts and wiring it should be fun.
My wife told me tonight to save some extra pennies so I can start my Toy collection again and stop driving her nuts.....
