Ok Fella's , He's my problem. I have a Stewart Warner Speedo and it's about 10 miles hr off to the slow side. It is Electric with four wires pluged into the back. I went to the SW web site and could not find anything about this unit. It is an older speedo . There is two very small screw heads on the back, and what look to be + - marks . Does anybody know if this is how I would calabrate this speedo? Any help would be great . Thanks Andy
I never wear them myself. I'm too old and have too much overhang...Cable

I was having problems with my speedo several months back. My unit is totally different from yours but from what I read when I was researching my problem, yours sounds like a couple that were described here. I am sure you have probably already figured this out but just in case;
I think you should screw in the + screw in about a half turn then go for a drive and compare your speed to the GPS, continue until you get them to match. I don't know this will work but it makes sense that it would.
I am sure there will be a couple of more knowledgeable folks than I speak up but that's my 2ยข

Thanks Bob I guess I needed someone to tell me that might work , I never thought about the GPS thing Thanks
Be sure to let us know how it works out
Well I got my starter back in and she works GREAT SOOOOOOOOOOOO I got the GPS out and took the sweet thing for a ride,and found out Iam way out of wack. @ 50 mph Iam really going 65 and what I thought was 65 was really about 78 .lol now aI know why I find the bottom of my fuel tank so soon. The screws on the back of the speedo are just to hold the face on because when I looked a little closer they did nothing lol. So is it still the speedometer or is it the switch on the tranny. Clifford told me about a fells in phoenix Iam going to try him I guess, Iam lost thanks for listening

As I mentioned earlier, I don't know very much but I do know the guys at Precision Instrument in Phoenix are great to work with. The walked me through my first tachometer but come to findout I didn't have the "R" terminal on my alternator to hook it to (I had told him I had the "R" terminal, so it wasn't their fault).
When I called them back they sent me a whole new tach and wiring harness to hook it up through the flywheel cover. I took photos and sent him so he could walk me through it. I returned the first tach several days later with no charges or restocking fees.
Great Company from my experience. If you don't find an answer from the board, I would definitely call Precision Instruments
Bob
I would look very closely for a set screw. Ours had one, and I missed it several times. Not to mention that it isn't a big deal to travel without one. At night we don't have a speedo anyways, because our dash lights are out. Not a big deal with GPS, though.
God bless,
John
Thanks Fella's Iam going to do just that. Well call them tomorrow and see what they can come up with . Thanks again
