Title: magnum 2812 inverter
Post by: cody on September 02, 2009, 06:30:53 AM
I bought the magnum inverter it's 2800 continuois and pure sine wave, what I haven't got yet is the remote panel, will it work without the remote panel or is the panel required to operate it, I plan on getting the remote at some point, it's just a money thing right now.  I bought it to replace a 1000 wat freedom inverter.

That is a nice looking inverter!  Since the remote control is an optional extra and they sell the unit without it, you can almost certainly operate your unit on it's own.

That reasuring, my thoughts were that some require being programed to the kind of batteries you have and different cut off points that are usually done thru the remote panel I was hoping to at least get basic function from the inverter without the remote until I can get one.

here is the operators manual:

http://www.solarpanelstore.com/pdf/magnum_ms_manual.pdf (http://www.solarpanelstore.com/pdf/magnum_ms_manual.pdf)

maybe that will help?  when in doubt, rtfm...   ;D

Well, for fun I read the manual and it appears to  me that it has a factory default setting that seems pretty reasonable, calls for 400 ah battery bank, and about the same settings that I would probably choose, but to modify the factory default you do need the remote control.  I think, anyway.
