Title: Mexican-built Scenicruiser?
Post by: Rudy Frimbrez on July 15, 2006, 03:51:43 PM
Have any of you guys ever heard of a Mexican bus called a Sultana?  Very stylish coach that resembles a Scenicruiser, but has 4 axles (two steering in front).  I think they were 8V-71 powered.  Any ideas where to find any information out about them?  How many were built, how many left, ect..

Rudy -

The pics DrDave posted are those of the 35-foot and 40-foot Sultanas, built by Dina, and based on Flxible's initial design work.

IIRC, they haven't been built since the mid-60's. . .

FWIW & HTH

So, Flxible was to blame?  Kind of sorry I asked!  Thanks.  One wierd coach, that's for sure.......

flxible isn't to blame.

it's Dina...or at least the Dina Designers.

Although they may be based on Flxible designs.....they are highly 'bastardized"
