hello guys, im new to these forums as i am now a proud 4104 owner. im 22 (which im sure is one of the youngest).
well enough about me, i was wondering where i can get the center rear glass? thank you- Josh
I see you contacted john4104s about his parts buses. That's probably going to be your best bet. AFAIK, no one is supplying them new.

Welcome to the madness that is busnutitus! Totall incurable, totally insane, totally loads of fun!
Now, to answer your question, the rear window glass for the 4104 is currently made from unobtainium.
The only glass you'll find is on an donor coach, and, if the owner knows what he's got, it will be expen$ive.
The other challenge will be the rubber seal/weatherstripping to retain the window. The stock OEM unit is also discontinued, but others have managed to fabricate what they need with materials obtained from a good automotive glass shop.
Some folk have had the glass replaced with plastic, usually Lexan, which has been heated sufficiently to allow it to conform to the original compound shape.
Now you know why so many of these have been capped!
Just one of the many challenges you'll face with a 50-year-young bus!
(BTW, what's the VIN on your coach? PD4104-XXXX?)

Thank you RJ for the info. I have a plaque that says manufactured by general motor company PD-4104-3946. is that plaque hard to find? I found it very cool to have if not.

That's called the Builder's Plaque, and it should be riveted on the dashboard in the front entry stepwell, above the emergency equipment access door. If it's loose, then make sure it matches the actual VIN on the coach - sometimes PO's will cover the original when the finish off the conversion's dashboard.
The VIN is also stamped into the vertical "frame rail" inside the exterior compartment directly underneath the driver. Compare that to your plaque to see if they match.
Oh, and FYI, your coach was delivered new in 1959 as fleet number 39 to the Frank Martz Coach Co, based in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Martz is/was a Trailways affiliate, and has an excellent reputation. So, for at least it's first 10 years or so in revenue service, it was well taken care of. Who knows since then. . .
