Post by: steve5B on August 30, 2009, 07:12:41 PM

Does anyone know a good place to buy LED  clearance lights?  I have a 1976 5B (MCI) I feel kinda of stupid I haven't a clue

if it's 24 volt or 12.

  Thanks,

I got a large number of brand new LED marker lights on UK Ebay - they were being sold by a official dealer but for a lot less than retail price (not sure how the economics of that works). They are dual voltage (ie. 12v/24v), which is quite common. The type I bought are from Rubbolite, which is a well known lighting brand here (http://www.ukautomotive.co.uk/search.asp?q=Rubbolite (http://www.ukautomotive.co.uk/search.asp?q=Rubbolite)). I dare say you could find the equivalent on US Ebay if you look.

Standard sized LED clearance lights in 12 volt are inexpensive enough that it usually isn't worth buying them online unless buying a large batch.  Any heavy truck dealer, truck stop or truck parts place will have them.  Trailer and RV dealers should have them too.  Walmart even has some lights.

A number of the common lighting companies make 24 volt LED clearance lights in the standard sizes.  You will likely either have to order those from a local dealer or online.  A local bus garage might have some 24 volt LED lights on hand for sale.
