Title: radiator fan
Post by: Cary and Don on July 19, 2009, 12:02:37 PM
Hi,

I remember there being a thread about a source for a better fan for our 6V92 left hand engine. I can't find the link to the company that these can be ordered from.  We're hoping somebody out there remembers better than us.

I too searched but couldn't find the thread.  There is a thread with links to a company that makes fans with more blades than stock.  This thread has a lot of info concerning radiators. http://www.busconversions.com/bbs/index.php?topic=1464.0

Hopefully this will help get you a response as the 7/20 was a day of emergencies.

Here you go,

This solved my cooling problem.  The link is the picture of installation.  The "radiator trivia" link from the last post gives Goodson Bus Sales as the source for the fan.

Is it possible to have too much fan?  What is too cold of a temp for the 6v92 engine?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Not if you have a 180 degree t-stat.  Mine goes to 180 and stays there.  It did go to 190 on Wolf Creek pass last week, but I expect that.  10 miles of pedal to the floor and 1950-2000 rpms all the way up.
