Title: We have a door ! or, On my next bus.....
Post by: travelingfools on July 10, 2009, 05:13:44 PM
Well, I know some may not belive it, but a project I thought would take a few hours took around 10, However I no longer have Bi-fold doors. The sedan door is hanging on its own, but just roughed in. Ive got to replace some broken bolts and do a little shimming, but its there ! Progress is so exciting and motivating ! Rivits for skin were shipped yesterday and will be here next week..life is good !

Oh, and my next bus will have a sedan door before I buy it !!!

Hmmm, does your mention of shimming mean that maybe I can adjust my door where I have wind noise at the top?  I figured I needed a new gasket.

I would like to find a sedan door for my 5C - any tips on where to look?

Any ideas on an inner screen door?

Thanks, Brian

Hey John are we having fun yet? lol That really looks good, something about seeing the windows covered and the sedan door in place it really starts looking like a conversion, somehow in all its insanity this has so much satisfaction, when you see it starting to take form and you know it's your creation, not some cookie cutter piece of plywood and staples that rolled off a line and then went to how many other people, all identical.  You can be proud of all you've done, sure, it takes time but when you rumble into a campground with the big detroit growling and when you see the people stop and turn to watch you roll by, it's becomes all worth it.  I was digging thru my past stuff and read some of the first stuff we talked about when you were asking questions back on rv.net, now I look at what you've done, you can be very proud.
