getting ready to put a shaft seal in my mci 8 ac coach compressor , any one have any advise, also does any one know how much oil ester oil it takes if you chage the oil in it ?
Kevin
Haven't done the seal, but it takes about 3/4 gal oil. If you're changing from R12 to R134, you'll need 2 gal, one to flush, and one to fill.
I'm the same as gumpy.
Did the conversion flush, compressor seal still good.
happy coaching!

Brian Diehl did his seal, I think.
Maybe he's back from vacation and can add some info.
Hi Kevin,
First, make sure all the refrigerant is out of the system or you will have a big suprize....
Take a good mental and physical note of how every part comes out. Especially the spring.
Clean the area well and coat all the new parts and the seal in the refrigeration oil before you install them.
Other then that, it's pretty straight forward. Yell if you need to..
Good Luck
