Title: generator bay
Post by: eaglekelly on July 06, 2009, 12:33:38 PM
 Hello.
,
Will you guys tell me what you are using to line the bay that your generator is in.  I'm concerned about the safety running it for long periods of time.
The person who converted the coach has put foam rubber around the compartment.

Bryan has redone a lot of different things that were not up to our standards of safety and maybe I'm over reacting  but I worry about things that don't
look right.

Ours is going to be lined with EHP rollboard. It has the radiator directed by a shroud through the floor, and otherwise has no vent to the side of the bus. Only through the floor. Everything in our bay is up to EPS (our generator maker) standards. We have a 20kw EPS genset with a quiet box on it. We wouldn't have to line it's compartment with the rollboard, but we will just to make it ever quieter, and to deal with heat.

Later,

God bless,

John

Thanks John,  we have an older generator and it is noisy, it's a Power Tech 15KW.   He is putting a exhaust through the floor.  The bay door does have a screen, I thought that was probably for the heat.
