I have a 1969 MC-7 with the standard Spicer 4 speed with the Push Button Reverse. It appears to be locked in 2nd gear and won't shift at all. Any quick suggestions as to what can be done to get her back to neutral?
Maybe there is too much play in your shift linkage. You could try moving the linkage directly at the transmission and get neutral. This would also show you that adjustment is necessary (or replacement of linkage parts) to shift it correctly. My 72 originally had a 4 speed and was not always the best shifting transmission, but these buses were used alot before many of us got them for a conversion.

Sounds like the linkage is hung. Either pull one of the access hatchs and pry the shift linkage from there or get under the back and pry it from the trans. Try to visualize which linkage bar is out of position, either to far forward or to far back in comparison to the other and force it into the neutral position. Its pretty common. A pry bar and some force won't hurt anything, its already hung.
