I have a 58 4104 the red GMC emblem on the front is getting kind of ratty looking. Does anyone have a source for either a good replacement or someone who refurbishes the old one or makes a new replacement.
Thanks
Denny

As far as I have heard, the "real" emblems are no longer available through any of the normal sources. I asked Luke at U.S. Coach about them a couple of years ago, and he indicated he no longer has them. He mentioned a contact to me, Fred Raymon, who was making reproduction emblems. From what Luke described however, these are more of a decal than the real emblem. I think I can dig out a phone number for Fred if you PM me.
When I bought my 4104, the emblem was already gone. I've often thought about seeing if I could fabricate a replacement on my own. However, it is pretty tuff when you don't have something to look at to start with. I would be very interested in a detailed picture of an original one, even if it is ratty looking.
Does anyone have a good photo of this emblem?
OK,
The emblem that Fred Rayman sells is a copy of the PD4104 GM front emblem.
It's made from red Scotchlite reflective sheeting.
I have one on the front of my GM Coach and it looks great. ;D
The cost per emblem is $29.95 plus $3.00 shipping.
Fred Rayman lives in OKC,OK and can be reached at 405-685-4664.
When you call have the serial/VIN number of your GM Coach as Fred is a noted bus historian and he will ask and tell you who was the first owner of your coach from GMC.

Any chance we could get a photo of the emblem Fred offers?
Here's a pic of the OEM emblem from a 4104:
And here's a pic of Fred's decal on the front of JLV's 4905. Sorry it's not larger, perhaps JLV will take a close up for you.
I have an original and rare GM "Greyhound" emblem that goes on the breastplate of older GM buses that I will never use except to collect dust!
350 shipped
Move this to classifieds if need be!
Ace
$3.50 seem like a fair price. Some one should jump on that...Cable
And...It includes shipping! Now that's a deal!
Paul
Come on ya'll. I think that he is probably losing money on the shipping. You should give him 5.00 for it. Might cover shipping better.
God bless,
John
Hey, be fair to the guy! How often do you get a chance to buy a $350 emblem to put on the front of a $300 coach . . ?
Seriously, if you compare that to other antique-vehicle OEM emblems, he's well under the market. For that matter, he's in the range of duplicate-reproduction emblems.
I called and talked to Fred about getting one of his replacement emblems. He is a great guy to talk to and very knowledgeable. He went through what you need to do to keep the emblem in good shape and from fading in the sun/weather. I ran down the history of my bus to him so he could archive it for the future. In the end I got his address and sent him a check in the mail along with a couple photos of my bus.
I can't wait to get my emblem.
.
If Ace is talking about the Running dog breastplate, I paid $76.00 for mine!

Wow you guys are rough! It was meant to say 35.00 but using my phone I slipped! Anyway a fellow called and asked rather than make a big deal here about it and it has been sold! I guess he felt bad and offered to send me 50.00. I guess he knew or knows what its worth and he feels like he got a really good deal!
I guess this proves why it doesn't pay to make a post any more about ANYTHING!
Aw comeon Ace! We're just having a little fun! No offense was meant, It's all good! ;)
Paul
I was just about to say the same Ace. We was just havin fun ;D. Lighten up ;D. I really thought that $350 was a good price for something that rare.
So are we still friends?
God bless,
John
