I promised more on the "Setra courtesy car" in another thread, and here it is! ;D
;D BK ;D
more!
Last 1!
Cute and roomy isn't it! LOL!
Cool, a belly bay car. ;D 8) :o ::)
Where is the rest of the car? ;D
Jack
BK, that is not their new 417 for motor home and entertainer shell they are going to be marketing next year is it. good luck
I balked at first when they told me the "Smart Car" was what they were calling the "courtesy car"! But they insisted I'd have to give it a chance "because it really is roomier inside than you think!"
Well I'll be, it is!
Also very fun to drive! Lot's of people staring at you too! LOL!
I really felt at first I should feel guilty or something because "I should really be carrying this thing instead of it carrying me!"
It's really got some pep, and I love the way it shifts like it's a stick shift with out a clutch pedal! When you are driving it you defenitly feel it shift as if you were manually shifting, but it has no clutch pedal. And you can bump the shifter side to side to up or down shift it! (only has P,R,N, & D on the shifter)
Or you can use the little paddle switches on the steering wheel the one on the left down shifts and the one on the right up shifts!
And of course you can just put it in D and let it do it itself, and it's really fun to just floor it and feel it bang thru all 5 gears!
I like it! I want to get a convertible to load in the luggage bays for "extended trips!" LOL!
;D BK ;D
You don't drive that, you wear it. Looks good on you.
Bryce, Are you sure you didn't have to grease up to to get into that thing? Maybe Heat th car with a torch and apply ice to you?
Wow, that's cool, is it towable?
I have been told when I ride a bicycle I look like a watermelon on a razorblade. ::)
It reminds me of Fred Flintstones car. Where is Barney Rubble?

What a relief to know I'm not the only one. ;D
That's a novel way to begin promoting their toy car. I'll bet that little car get's some good mileage when not pedal to the plastic.

I don't know but it got 57 mpg with the pedal to the plastic & will do 80 MPH on the freeway too! (I had to be sure it wasn't just an around town kinda car ya know!)
;D BK ;Ds
Are all their cars "form fitting"? lol
Shrink to fit car kind of has dual meaning. lol
Kyle was right before the correction - it is a belly car - it just barely gets around it! :D
Glenn
Does it come with a shoe horn?...Cable
We've had them available up here for a number of years, and they used to be powered with a 3 cylinder diesel. Now that got good fuel mileage - a friend gets 80 mpg plus to the imperial gallon.
Brian
What is its 0-60 time and does it come in 4X4?
Expiring minds???
We have three at home and are really a piece of technology.

The U.S. gasoline model does 0-60 in 12.8 seconds. Not offered in a 4x4 model.
The revised diesel engine introduced in Europe, and not available here, has 44 HP and 81 ft-lb torque. It does 0-62 mph in 20 seconds, and is good for 71.3 mpg (U.S. gallons). It has an 8.7 gallon tank, so that translates to 620 miles. Two catches, however: First, it doesn't pass U.S. emissions. Second, it is reportedly a very loud engine.
They are a very tough car as can be seen in this crash test.

Think that eagle didn't sit on it long enough, hatched prematurely! From what I've heard they are a great vehicle.

Could you get a picture? Do you think that is possible to do, it weighs something like 1900 lbs.
Looking at the picture of the car in front of the Eagle. I can imagine the look on the car driver's face if that was at speed going down the road. I would have a major brick forming in my drawers. Speaking of mileage. I have been driving my company car since it was brand new. I am in a 2001 VW Jetta turbo diesel. I have it full of tools and equipment with 2 ladders on top. It has to be the equivalent of 4 to 5 people. I can get on the tollway and get up to 60 mph in less than 10 seconds. I can do 70 -80 mph all day long and still get 50 mpg. By the way, it has over 303,000 miles on it today. Still runs like a champ. I get a real kick out of the car manufacturers when they boast 30 mpg on their gas vehilcles. I was thinking about the efficiencies. A bus can carry 47ish passengers and ger 5 mpg roughly. Some of these scooters are getting supposedly 120 mpg. Divide that by the 47 passengers, you only get 2.5 mpg. That little car is cute but each person is now only getting 35 mpg. Too much time to think.

Sorry, unfortunately, I will probably not see them until next winter. I am pretty sure is was a product and not something he fabricated himself. Jack
BK,
Had the airbag inflated or were you just glad to be riding in it :D ;D
I think that is Bryce's toes sticking out the left headlight ;D
