Title: IBP
Post by: Airbag on June 23, 2009, 08:37:36 PM
Well boys and girls I received my new upper and lower baggage door skins for my MC5A. Now I have to say I've been in the aircraft structural repair business for most of my life. I have opened crates from Boeing, Douglas, Lockheed, Cessna, Beechcraft and others containing some of the most beautiful skins this world has ever produced to exacting standards.

The skins I received from IBP are up to these standards. They are beautiful and to my suprise holes drilled. All edges deburred all holes deburred, corrugations match exactly to the old ones. They are coated with plastic for protection. Back sides have been treated with surface conditioning wheels to insure no sharp edges, you would have a hard time cutting yourself on these.

Steve Thank you
Tell the boys there in fabrication and shipping a hearty WELL DONE

All you bus nuts with skins that need help I can tell you IBP's skins are worth every penny so lets get them some orders I want them to stick around a while. I will be ordering more if I have to sell a kidney.

Rick, none of it is the same color and they have been told over and over by me and different Eagle owners when you pay 12 grand for siding you want it to be perfect just like your stainless    good luck

It's anodized I take it? I am sorry to hear that they weren't up to par. Maybe it's like some jobs in the airplane biz, I just say no because I know my limitations and know the customer won't be satisfied. Maybe the trick is order it bare and get it anodized somewhere else? I don't know but I do know their fabrication is good.

I'm tickled pink I can get them at all because it saves me from having to buy a press brake. The layout alone would be a real PITB with bend allowance, set back, spring back etc..

Good Luck

Rick, in all fairness to IBP they have made some improvements on their mirror siding for the Eagles over the past few years, but it is still is lacking in quality and workmanship compared to another supplier I know of.   good luck

Good morning everyone,

It's alway great to hear compliments on a product you've manufactured.  Unfortunately, sometimes there are problems that arise and when they do we try to resolve them in a timely fashion.

In regards to the Eagle siding, it is an item that we have tooling for but not an item we manufacture in house.  We have always tried to take care of any problems as they came up.  We have manufactured polished stainless skin kits for several Eagle coaches in the past.  Please feel free to call 800-468-5287 x232 or email me at skolb@ibpindustries.com if there are any questions.

Thanks
Steve
