i know theres not a ton of information on the coach, but just a rough estimated value
sorry for the double picture, i meant this
http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/3846/1985prevost022.jpg
not near enough info to make a rough guess at worth in my opinion.
I generally find one of two things is true in something like this......
it is either a hell of a deal because the people know nothing.........
or it is an awefull dealbecause the people know nothing.
holds true no matter what your buying when there is no info or photos
I agree on the lack of info. does it have a shower? with 8 bunks sounds like it was an entertainer which could be good or bad. if you are really interested have them send you a detailed description of the features and brands of accessories.
It is an entertainer, which is what i am looking for. Not sure about a shower...i messaged him for more details on the conversion
i'd be looking at his MCI

It is interesting that the same guy is selling both buses, but he'll takes trades on only one of the two.
gmpd, i looked at that bus and though it is beautiful on the outside, i am not a fan of the interior finishing. though it is something that i can do, i am looking for something that i can buy and have minimal modifications to do (and i am aware that comes with a price).
belfert...that is interesting. not sure the reasoning behind that.
Ok, here is the details from the seller on the conversion

No doubt it's a very nice looking coach and shows evidence of being professionally converted. In short the first major issue I would have is the driveline. If it's indeed a non-turbo 8V71 DD and a manual 6spd, this drastically takes away value. Generally speaking most coaches were using turbo's by the mid 80's....it's possible the engine was "downgraded".
From experience I would never, ever, buy another 40' coach w/o a turbo. There's just not enough power for anything but cruising the flats-- the 6spd will sure help and you'll no doubt need it-- hope it's a syncro, otherwise happy trails double clutching all day long (!).
While it's a very sharp looking bus (hard to REALLY tell with the low-res pics), the driveline is a major let down, and will likely cost you in the future, when it's time to sell it, or consider the huge investment to repower with something adequate. Also, the MPG will likely be miserable-- always driving with the "pedal to the metal".
In today's market, an educated buyer is something to reckon with.
Hopefully a Prevost roles a lot better than an Eagle (that i had; and just 2K miles on a $20K engine rebuild) :D
I gotta agree with Steve - the driveline is the weak link. I'm also surprised that it is not turbo. Offer the guy 20K, if you really like to shift, and see what happens! The market is tanked, so shoot low. Good luck!

Now, this bus has potential. But, only four pictures...?
Since you are in the business and looking for an entertainer, you most likely know what to look for. Some are well maintained (and that one looks pretty clean) but many are badly abused. 50,000 miles between oil changes is not going to show up in a casual inspection. You won't know about a marginal cooling system until you really stress it.
If it was used on tour and has had only one driver for a while, that's the guy I would take out for a couple of beers.
Iminaccess,
i talked to this guy a few weeks back because a friend was interested in the MCI. Seemed like he has alot of experience with buses, that said good luck
Now could I purchase a turbo and put it on, or is there more to it than just that?
