I have windows for Mac that he needs to get Phoenix back on the road. My/his problem is tranportation. Can anyone help with getting these windows to La. from Eugene, Orygun? Even if you are only part of a leg in the journey or you can hold the material for pickup it would help to know what any of you can possibly do.
I talked to HTR and he suggested I contact the folks attending the BusNUSA event up in Rickreall, Or. I did that and they will get out the word. I will be with them on 24 thru 28 June and we will see if we can get the windows moved by them and how far. Mac IS NOT a member of that chapter of FMCA but they agreed to help "our member" anyway and they made no specific request that he join FMCA. Jack Conrad is the east coast chapter of this group and his annual event is the "sister" event to Rickreall. Maybe Jack has folks traveling west for a spell that can move the windows east toward Louisiana. Any help wil be a help. :P ;D
Thanks for your help,
John
There is a couple from FL that I think will be attending the Rickreall rally , but I do not know if they have enough room in their bus for them. I don't want to put pressure on them by mentioning their names, but I am sure they will help if they can. Jack
Hey guys... No, I'm not a member of FMCA, however... I do plan to be eventually. Once I had the bus ready to roll, I'd planned to join up and check out the sights... I know that there's a number of benefits to being a member, I just don't have the need for a membership right now for obvious reasons.... :s
But, it's in the future if I can get Phoenix back up and flying down the road again. :)
John, I forgot to mention... You wouldn't happen to have the seals for those windows too, would ya? ^.^ And, what did you find on the Jake conversion kit for the 8v71? Were the parts there for it?
Thanks again guy....
Jack! :) How ya been? ^.^

Ugh. John.....
I hate to ask for another part.... But I went back out to the bus today and started her up and the DD3 chamber that was giving me fits is giving me more than a fit now. It won't release and it won't stop leaking... I meant to add this to the previous reply, but forgot about it until just now.
I'm not sure if there's a difference between curb side and road side, but it's the road side DD3 chamber that's gone belly up. It's not the diaphragm, as that's brand new (replaced by PO). When I first got it, I could wait until it was at full pressure, hit the brake release and hold the throttle at above idle speed and it would eventually "click" into place (causing a relay to click as well) and stop leaking. As long as the brakes were warm from use, I could pull the knob and set the brakes and turn around and release them again no problems...
Now I can't do that either. They simply won't release and that chamber is blowing air out faster than the compressor can pressurize the system. :(
I think I'd be better off just replacing it if you have a spare chamber laying around... Or, if you have the parts for a complete rebuild of the chamber (all the internals), I could go that route too. I haven't yanked it off yet, as I no longer have the tools to do so (yet), but will have access to the tools when I need them from a friend.... I'll have to block the line and release the brake on that wheel manually to move the bus out to his shop though.

Mac,
You are no bother to me in any way. Unfortunately I may have led you astray on where the bear sh.. in the buckwheat. That's a joke. My role in this was to sort of prove to Kevin that people wanted his service and the materials he was trying to get to bus nuts. It wasn't working before as far as I could see and he wasn't even a member of BCM Forum. I don't have independent access to the stores of parts, don't understand it all and can't ID the stuff. Basically I am a NewBee despite being well aged and mature to the point of being stale. In short, you need and deserve better help than I can give you.
So where we stand with this is that MANY have asked for a lot of stuff from KEVIN. I took some calls and instigated sales but I said I would not profit and I keep my word either way. Kevin is the person to which all these calls are to be made. I am sure he will help as there is profit in it and I think he has a genuine desire to help us all.
Kevin has looked at the pics of your bus and he said "we have all those windows", as I recall. I reminded him that he and I discussed your situation and he was agreeable to comping you the glass. Talk to him about attaching hardware and the other materials you need. If you look at the pics I posted on Photo Bucket I think you will see a pic of the cans you are referring to. Again....call Kevin.
I am still working the problem of getting the glass to you. recall, I have two RV thermo tinted windows for you. My pleasure. Kevin has yet to get the other glass to me for forwarding. I think I can get the 4 windows to you in the next month or so but nothing is certain. Bob of the North is going south to Mex in Sept so it might have to wait till then. Currently there is a couple that Jack Conrad knows that is traveling from here to Fla and they may be able to haul for you. I'll let you know details as I find anything out. Send Van a thank you as he offered to hold stuff in Vegas for you till another "mule" comes along. Hope we can find something straight thru but it doesn't break that way often.
Mac.... YOU NEED TO CALL KEVIN. He still hasn't given me the windows that you need. My connection for you will leave Rickreall, Or late Sat or Sunday. At this point I can only send the new windows I have for you. I think you said you needed the bus glass to get Phoenix registered and then it would be fall till you got her road worthy, etc. Kevin posted all his contact data on the other thread that I first started and where you put you address and such. I feel guilty about this, my man. I don't think that i impressed upon you all these things. My apology if I am remiss and this caught you off guard. Nothing is lost at this point.
You know you can get a hold of me by PM or my email or 541 915 083two. Be well and happy.
John
MacGuyver,
Bad news a little. Seems the guys up at Rickreall, Or. thought you lived in LA. as in Los Angelas instead of Loosy Anna. The couple that Dave Greg, AKA The Prez, had in mind that came from Fla were not returning to the east for many months and didn't have room anyway.
Jack,
Are these the same folks that you have in mind? I didn't ask for names. Didn't seem right. Can your people still give any assist in this?
Mac,
More bad news. Kevin said he couldn't get the stock windows to me in time for Rickreall because they are still installed in the bus. I don't think I ever had that data but then they say the mammary is the second thing to go. Please get in touch with him about his sched. Be a shame if Jack has a Knut coming your way and we miss a carrier.
Keep me updated,
John

Yes, that is the folks I had in mind. I do not know of anyone else from Fl (or the Southeast) that is in the Northwest. Jack
John,
I will be back in OR Eugene exit 209 in about a week for a couple of months then back to Quartzsite for the winter and possibly a trip East in the fall if this would be of any use.
LarryH
Larry,
Great to hear from you. You bet you can help and you are a breath of fresh air.
Bob of the North is coming thru in Sept and going all the way to Mex. He said he might be able to make room for the windows. Isn't clear to me where he can drop them for Mac or exactly when.
This thing seems to be moving in the right direction. At this point I am only one cog that is providing two windows. Mac will have to step up and enter into the coordinating role and such. Kevin has mat, I have mat, two Knuts, yourself included, will transport and Van will hold mat in Vegas, if need be. I hope others will step up and give him still more alternatives and support. I wish to dial down my involvement only because I am no longer key to the effort. Be assured I am very happy to have been able to assist and I'll help further if needed.
LarryH, Give me a call after you get to town. Coffee sounds good to me. Thanks.
Thanks to all that have offered.....
John
